19 Things I've Learned By 19.

As I am coming close to the end of my teenage years and turning the corner towards 20, I have started to reflect on the things I have endured and the things I have learned in my life. SO here it goes, here are 19 things I have discovered, realized, learned by my ripe age of 19:

1.Its okay to not be okay. As simple as that. This thing called life will have ups and downs and I am sure you have been told this millions of times but you have to have bad times to really enjoy the good times; once you hit rock bottom, there is no where to go but UP. Chin up. It is normal to not have your life together at 19.

2.You are enough. Do not let that boy or girl make you feel any less; if they only call you at 2 am, they don't want you for you.

3.Not every situation deserves a reaction, if someone says something bad about you then screw them. They do not deserve the satisfaction of a reaction from you. Be the bigger person.

4.When people show you their true colors... BELIEVE THEM. I can not stress this enough, whether it is family, friends or a significant other when someone shows you who they really are, believe them.

5.If someone belittles you, walk away. Remember the saying "Sticks and stones may hurt my bones but words can never hurt me"? Yes? Okay, keep that in mind and walk away.

6.Learn how to trust, even when people give you every reason not to. Do not close yourself off from relationships because of past relationships. Everyone deserves good people in their lives and be sure to take chances on people. Yes heartbreak is horrible but closing yourself off to feelings is much worse.

7.Call your loved ones often. Call your grandparents often, they love you.
8.Make traditions; make traditions with friends, with family, with significant others, and most importantly make traditions with yourself.

9. SAY YES. Say yes to adventures; go alone, go with friends, just go.

10.People will make you feel like the sun and then treat you like you’re just a lightbulb. Make sure you know how to make yourself happy and love yourself.

11.Friends come and go. Let go. Don't beat yourself up if you can't salvage every friendship.

12.People will have different opinions than you. Just listen.

13.You will gain patience.

14. Holding a grudge will not make you feel any better in the end. Move on and accept that whatever happened probably happened for the better.

15.Be kind. My God, bleed kindness. Being kind to others is not only beneficial to others but it makes you feel better too.

16. Ultimatums are stupid. Make sure you can see through others manilpultation and do not be afraid to say no.

17.Work hard. Don't half ass things, work ethic is so important. TRY to do more than what is expected of you.

18.Eating ice cream for dinner is the best stress reliever.

19.Be yourself. Be bold. Be kind. Love openly and unconditionally. Chase your dreams and never give up on things that make you happy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
