Ordinary Adventures

Friends is one of the most relatable TV shows there is. Even though the series finale aired twelve years ago, the show continues to hold a special place in our hearts. Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey, and Ross showed what it’s like to be twenty-somethings living on their own and dealing with life’s ups and downs in the early stages of adulthood (sound familiar?). Sure, they were a little older than we currently are, but throughout the course of 10 seasons, college life has been perfectly summed up time after time by everyone's favorite group of Friends. Don't believe me? Just watch.

1. Usually, your day will begin in one of two ways:

Either your alarm goes off, much to your dismay...

...or you wake up minutes before class and live with the consequences.

It was definitely worth the extra few minutes of sleep, though.

2. You wake up starving because the cafeteria food isn't exactly filling

And if you don't eat now, your stomach will scare everyone within a two seat radius of you away.

3. Then comes deciding what to wear

Dress well, test well? Or dress comfy, feel comfy?

4. But it doesn't even matter anyway. You'll end up wearing 189012897 layers on top of your outfit just to maintain a regular body temperature

Comfy it is. I'm just preventing myself from getting hypothermia.

5. You get to class, but feel less than enthusiastic about it

I'm looking at you, 8 AM classes.

6. And all you can think about is the great nap you're gonna take as soon as you're dismissed

The countdown 'til bedtime is on.

7. You're also hungry again

How is it humanly possible to always be so hungry?

8. When it comes time to study, there's a solid chunk of information that you are convinced you never went over in class a first time

And it's even worse when it comes around to finals week.

9. Very quickly, procrastination sets in and all motivation is lost

I'd like to thank Instagram and Snapchat for getting me to where I am today.

10. So naturally, you take a break from the stress of school with your friends. More often than not, this involves a dance party

Let's be honest, it's really just a dance party with a side of homework.

11. If academics weren't enough to stress you out, let's not forget about all of the organizations and activities you're currently involved in

*cue "Stressed Out" by Twenty One Pilots*

12. Then, it hits you that the real world is closer than you think and that you're nowhere near prepared for that

Can I just stay 19 forever?

13. *cue mental breakdown*

Yup.

14. Your self-confidence may take a hit

It's not your fault. No one told you life was gonna be this way.

15. Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's DOA

(that stands for "dead on arrival" for those of you who have always wondered)

16. It may not have been your day, your week, your month, or even your year

All aboard the struggle bus!

17. But your friends will be there for you

18. Cause you're there for them too

And so will Netflix

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
