Every morning when I open Timehop, I see dozens of pictures and tweets ranging from my freshmen year of high school to my senior year. I see things that I had once stressed about, school projects and silly drama, and constantly ask myself why those things ever bothered me. Looking back, I wish I could've told myself not to worry about the little things and enjoy the time I had. Here are 18 things I wish I could've told myself back then.
1. No one will remember that your hair wasn't perfectly straight.
2. That boy wasn't worth those tears.
3. That test grade didn't define you as a student.
4. Laugh more, think less, but be responsible.
5. Rumors don't last forever.
6. Your parents texted you because they were worried about you, not to be overprotective and "annoying."
7. Those bangs were a bad choice.
8. Cherish those late nights with your friends, they won't always be a five minute drive away.
9. Don't put your drama on social media, it just makes the situation worse.
10. Be nice to everyone. You don't know what someone is dealing with, your kindness could mean the world to them.
11. If someone doesn't like you, it's not the end of the world, there's five other people that do.
12. Homecoming and prom are overrated.
13. Enjoy every Friday night under the lights, they don't last as long as you think.
14. Not getting chosen for prom court doesn't mean that people don't like you.
15. Most things are fixable.
16. Talk to your parents; they really do give great advice.
17. Always be yourself.
And most of all
18. Don't grow up too fast.
