Regardless if you loved or hated growing up in a small town, we've all experienced the following 17 things.
1. People ask where you're from, and you say the biggest town/city near your hometown.
2. You've known the kids who you graduated with since preschool.
3. The 20 minute drive to your nearest Walmart is nothing new.
4. It is completely normal to know every single one of your neighbors.
5. You can't go to the grocery store without running into an ex or someone you don't like.
6. Getting stuck behind a tractor or Amish doesn't phase you.
7. Most weekend plans involve walking around your closest Walmart or Target, or driving down some gravel roads.
8. Waving at everyone you see on the road is a normal thing.
9. You get offended when kids from the cities trash talk small towns.
10. You gauge the size of a town by the number of gas stations or stop lights.
11. Everyone knows your name.
12. The chances of you locking your house or car are slim to none.
13. Teachers accidentally call you by an older sibling's name.
14. You were probably at the high school football game on a Friday night, if you liked football or not.
15. A new kid at school was a rarity, so when it happened it was the biggest news.
16. Secrets weren't a thing- what you did on a Friday night would be the biggest gossip around school on Monday.
17. Going shopping is usually a day long thing because the closest mall is easily an hour away.
