Oh, to be a freshman again. So young, energetic, and optimistic for what the next four years have in store. It's not until you reach your junior or senior year of college that you begin to realize how freakin' naïve you were back then. It's almost cringe-worthy to think about, am I right? Thankfully as time went on, you learned plenty of valuable lessons (usually the hard way) and reality eventually set in. Still, you have to admit that now you get a good laugh out of the type of stuff you hear incoming freshmen say...just like people definitely did when you first stepped onto campus.

1. "I am going to get ready every single morning. I will never be one of those girls who shows up to class in sweats and a messy bun."

2. "I think I am going to double major in Accounting and Biochemistry."

3. "I want to major in something easy like Nursing or Education. How hard could they be?"

4. "You don't think my professor will really mind if I'm late, do you?"

5. "My boyfriend is going to come visit me every weekend like he promised. You don't think my roomie will mind, do you?"

6. "I'm the champion of beer pong."

7. "One sec, let me just tell my parents to put more money in my bank account."

8. "$20 for a parking pass? Do I even really need one? I doubt security would give me a parking ticket all the way over on this side of campus."

9. "I never had to study in high school. I'm just a good test taker. I'll be good."

10. "UGH, I have a two-page History paper due this week. Literally, kill me."

11. "I'm going to call and FaceTime my besties from back home every day to make sure we keep in touch."

12. "Ew. I don't care if the all-freshman dorm is cheaper. I NEED to have my own bathroom."

13. "I plan to graduate in three years."

14. "I didn't read the assigned chapters. It's not like my professor will notice though, right?"

15. "In high school my classes started at 7:45AM. I'll just take all 8AM classes since I'm already used to being up that early."

16. "I got accepted to like five other schools. I just chose to come here because it was closer to home."

17. "I have a friend who is already in that fraternity, so I won't have a problem getting in."

18. "I'm so excited to finally be on my own."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
