From the black sand shores of Big Island to the world renown Waikiki Beach, Hawaii is, without a doubt, a paradise. Whether you have visited for a couple of days or lived for sometime you can't help but wanting more of the islands.
Here are 18 reasons you would rather be in Hawaii, from two people who will always hold little bit of Hawaii in their heart.
1. Because the weather is always perfect
For anyone who has lived off the island at some point, Hawaii's weather is perfect. It never gets cold enough for a jacket, except at nighttime. Even the rain is warm rain. Walking around the climate keeps cool with fresh island breezes making it sometimes feel pretty much like you're getting free AC. What's not to love?
2. Because it's in the middle of the Pacific Ocean
After slipping into the warm waters that can only be found in Hawaii you will always miss the ocean. The chance to just swim for hours or drop in at a moments notice. Nothing beats the ocean waters of Hawaii.

The beaches in Hawaii are public gemstones with as much variety as actual jewels. Some are packed with people like Waikiki Beach and some are so hidden most don't even know they're there. Some have public showers, others boast the best shaved ice stands -- each beach spot in Hawaii is very distinctive. A definite favorite for beaches is Oahu's North Shore side.
4. Because the food is amazing and diverse
From traditional Hawaiian local food like Poi and Kailua Pig to Zippy's chili or 7 Eleven's spam musubi, there are so many good things to eat in Hawaii! I cannot iterate this enough. In Hawaii you can get a Korean lunch plate with every Korean vegetable fixing you can think of, Chinese food from China town, the best dam acai bowl of your life and so much more. You could live in Hawaii for a lifetime and never eat at the same place even twice.
5. Because the aloha spirit
Nothing quite compares like the spirit of living in Hawaii. People aren't just on "island time" but have island spirit. Every one is Ohana. People of all places and cultures coexist here and it's one of the most beautiful reasons you will fall in love in Hawaii.
6. Because the waterfalls
Viewing a million waterfalls when driving through the Koolau mountains when it rains is a definite must. When rain can't be found, however, there are a million other waterfalls to be found. Because who wouldn't want to swim at the bottom of a waterfall?
7. Because hikes through the thick forests
Often in cities you lose the ability to immerse yourself fully in nature. That is definitely not true when living in Hawaii. Walking around, you are reminded of nature's beauty and its amazing power. Beaches aren't the only thing that are a constant thing to do in Hawaii.
8. Because of mountains and volcanoes
If you thought that hikes and beaches were amazing then you have yet to see Hawaiian mountains or volcanoes. The views. My mother likes to say they look like they were painted by God with a Paint brush. No matter what beliefs you hold try looking at these mountains, in real life, and tell me they don't move you.
9. Because of the variety of cultures/people
The people in Hawaii are as diverse as the Ohana (family) who live there, from people serving in the military staying on orders to locals that have seen nothing but the island. The people in Hawaii are apart of a mix of culture that's impossible to describe until you have visited the islands.

10. Because beach yoga
While yoga can be relaxing, it is a whole other level when it is on the beach. Instead of those audio sounds of a tranquil background you literally are in a tranquil background. Even for non-yoga fans it is a seriously awesome experience.
11. Because Ala Moana Mall
You have malls, then you have Ala Moana Mall. This is the mall of all malls feeding Hawaii's booming tourist industry, from William and Sonoma to Shirokiya, the best Japanese store you have ever seen. Shopping will never be the same again.
12. Because of the rich history
When in Hawaii it would be a shame to ignore the history of the islands. From the historic attack on Pearl Harbor to the ancient history of the Hawaiian people you can't help but want to soak it all in.
13. Because geckos > insects
Geckos. A beloved animal known for eating annoying insects, it is not uncommon to notice one or two running around your house. You learn to think of them as little protectors.
14. Because fresh fruit, especially coconuts
Fruit in Hawaii is year round must. Always so fresh and delicious. Think of any fruit and it's here, from coconuts to obscure Asian fruits I don't even know the name of.
15. Places like this
Need I say more?
16. The sunrises
Getting up at the crack of dawn is more than worth it.
17. And sunsets
Seriously breathtaking people!
