1. "Break Every Chain" by Jesus Culture

There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain

From the instrumental portion to the vocals, this song digs deep into the layers of our soul with slightly repetitive but powerful lyrics. Although many Christians know there is “power in the name of Jesus,” sometimes we just need to be reminded.

2. "Just Be Held" by Casting Crowns

And when you're tired of fighting

Chained by your control

There's freedom in surrender

Lay it down and let it go

Let’s be honest, it does not seem like God is always near. Thankfully, this song demolishes that thought and replaces it with the warm embrace of the Father.

3. "Good Good Father" by Chris Tomlin

Oh, and I've seen many searching for answers far and wide

But I know we're all searching

For answers only you provide

Cause you know just what we need

Before we say a word

Plain and simple, you are loved.

4. "Man of Sorrows" by Shane & Shane

Oh that rugged cross

My salvation

Where Your love poured out over me

Now my soul cries out

Hallelujah

Praise and honour unto Thee

Jesus’ sacrifice is the reason we have freedom, this song reminds us of just that alongside of a emotional journey packed into it.

5. "You Are Loved" by Stars Go Dim

If your heart's in a thousand pieces

If you're lost and you're far from reason

Just look up, know you are loved

This is a super catchy tune that speaks truth you need to hear. Just listen to it.

6. "No Longer Slaves" by Bethel Music

You surround me with a song

Of deliverance from my enemies

'Til all my fears are gone

This is such a freeing song. The world has no hold on us.

7. "Breathe" by Johnny Diaz

Come and rest at my feet

And be, just be

Chaos calls but all you really need

Is to just breathe

This life is fast paced-- a breath is well needed.

8. "I Give Myself Away" by InSalvation

All my dreams all my plans

Lord I place them in your hands

This is a perfect song to align your heart with God in worship.

9. "Your Great Name (Acoustic)" by Natalie Grant

Every fear; has no place; at the sound of your great name

The enemy; he has to leave; at the sound of your great name

I have to admit, I have had this song on repeat for a few months now. Powerful lyrics and moving acoustics make for a song to sit back and be filled with the power of the Spirit.

10. "You’ll Be Whole" by Lindsey Kane

I know that you feel like all hope has gone away

lost and forgotten innocence taken away

but it won’t always be this ways

on you’ll awaken to a new day

You’ll be whole at last

This is not a song that I have ever heard on the radio, but it should be-- what a calming and encouraging tune.

11. "Hallelujah" by Bethany Dillon

But it's when you hold me

That I start unfolding

And all I can say is

Hallelujah, hallelujah

This song hits home for me. When I need time to pray or read the Bible in the craziness of life, I play this song to take a step back and focus on what is important.

12. "Great Are You Lord" by All Sons and Daughters

You give life, You are love

You bring light to the darkness

You give hope, You restore

Every heart that is broken

This is my favorite worship song. When the band starts to play this, I immediately feel close to the Lord. There is nothing better than “pouring out our praise.”

13. "Dirty and Left Out" by The Almost

Why do you spread your arms and tell me I'm free

Why do you wanna be in my life

In my life

Although neither this song or artist is very well-known, it is a change of pace and definitely worth a listen.

14. "What Love Really Means" by JJ Heller

I will love you for you

Not for what you have done

Or what you will become

I love how this song is a story, and not just any story, but an incredibly relatable one. God’s love is incomprehensibly greater than any love we can discover in this world.

15. "Through All Of It" by Colton Dixon

You were there when it all came down on me

And I was blinded by my fear

And I struggled to believe

For starters, I love the piano in this song. But more importantly, the message of God never abandoning us through the ups and downs of life is just awesome.

16. "Kingdom Come" by Cody Davenport

We lift your name be glorified shout it out

Lord let your kingdom come

Lord let your will be done today in this place

I am not sure where I first heard this song, but now every time I hear it, I stop whatever I am doing. The lyrics are a beautiful prayer.

17. "Because He Lives (Amen)" by Matt Maher

I was dead in the grave

I was covered in sin and shame

I heard mercy call my name

He rolled the stone away

Going to Matt’s concert and hearing this song live, I have never felt so alive in Christ. Our identity resides in Him; this song reminds us of this.

18. "Yahweh" by Elevation Worship

Filled with Your wonder

Here I surrender

Held in Your mystery of grace

I recently began listening to Elevation Worship and cannot get enough. Just take a listen for yourself.

Music takes such a significant role in worship. For many people, it is much easier to relate or understand a message through song. My hope is this list can bring the Truth to you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
