Studying can be hard. Sometimes we don't want to do it, but we have to study. How do you study? What do you even study?

1. Review your notes.

When you take notes, hit on the important things and things you need to study more. Do not write down what you already know, it's redundant.

2. Look over power points or presentations.

This is where some test questions can come from these. It is a good indication of what might you need to study.

3. Skim the reading, again.

Rereading all the readings may not be to your benefit, but skimming helps refresh your memory.

4. Take a break!

It is beneficial to stop studying for a little bit. It gives your brain a break and an opportunity to relax.

5. Study a little at a time.

Split your studying up so it is not so overwhelming. It can also be draining when studying all at once.

6. Start studying early.

If you know you have a BIG exam in two weeks, start studying now. Then you will not be cramming the night before! Plus it will not be overwhelming.

7. Do not cram!

Cramming the night before does nothing! In addition, you might get things jumbled and mixed up on test day

8. Make flash cards.

This is a quick way to study. They are also very portable! You can study on your way to class, between classes, in the cafeteria, and anywhere else!

9. Listen to relaxing music.

I often find listening to relaxing music calming and relaxing. It also makes studying less daunting.

10. Find your place to study.

Studying in a comfortable, familiar place helps you study as well. It could be in your room, at your desk, in a building, outside, find your place.

11. Late night study sessions can do more harm than good.

Studying late at night your brain is not as active. You can also become sleep deprived. This does more harm than good.

12. Whatever you do, DO NOT wing a test!

You should go into an exam prepared! Winging it does not fly. It affects your grades.

13. Get a tutor for help!

They are there to help you! Chances are they have taken this class before and can give you some insight on what to study.

14. On test day: stay calm!

If you studied, you got this! Take a couple deep breathes to calm yourself.

15. On test day: believe in yourself!

You know this, you studied, and you got this!

16. On test day: eat breakfast.

Your brain needs fuel to function! Eat something before your exam.

17. On test day: dress up.

Look good, feel good, do good. If dress up your performance on your exam goes up.

Studying and taking exams can be a stressful. Make sure you study and study smartly! You can do it!
