17 Things That Happen When You Live With Your Sister

It isn't always fun and games, but I wouldn't trade our time together for anything.

17 Things That Happen When You Live With Your Sister

At the end of last year, both my sister and I moved back in with our parents. We even had to share a room, and let me tell you... sharing a room with someone who you are as close to as your sister isn't all fun and games. We for sure had our fair share of fights; however, we became closer than ever and had a whole lot of fun.

1. You get incredibly excited to hang out with them all the time again, just like when you were little.

2. You always have an honest opinion.

Whether it be an outfit, makeup, or boys, you know she’ll always tell you the truth.

3. You eat each other's food without feeling guilty.

And if they do get upset, you can always just buy them more. And let's be honest, she eats your food too so it all evens out.

4. There are a ton of selfies.

Especially with fun filters.

And I mean a ton.

5. And also a ton of embarrassing snapchat videos of each other.

Each video progressively being more and more cringe-worthy, of course.

And then the occasional really good video.

6. You almost always know where the other person is.

Especially when they're at work or hanging out with a boy.

7. But the few times you don't know where they are, you end up running into them anyway.

I once went to TJ Maxx and saw my sister in line to pay. Of course, I creepily texted her “I see you.”

8. You feel betrayed when they go somewhere without you.

Lucky for me, this rarely happened. Even when my sister went to volunteer at Graham Elliott's food booth at Lollapalooza, she made it possible for me to tag along too! Bonus: Free Day Pass and Free Lobster Corndogs!

9. You share most of your stuff.

Except not shoes in my case—my sister has tiny feet.

10. You get food together.. A LOT.

Our favorites were Chic-fil-a, Culvers, and Insomnia Cookies.

11. You watch all of the same shows.

Mainly just The Office over and over.

12. You start to develop your own form of communication.

One time my sister and I went to Target together and almost exclusively talked in memes. When we realized what we had been doing, we both were shocked. But then, we thought it was cool that probably no one else could understand what we were talking about.

13. There’s always someone there to make you laugh.

14. And to hug you when you're sad.

15. Eventually, you get really sick of always being around each other.

But in the time my sister and I lived together, I never felt closer to her.

16. You talk about living together forever.

17. And then you lose a part of yourself when they move out.

My sister moved to Georgia about two months ago, and I miss my best friend more than ever.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
