When I heard that "The Powerpuff Girls" were being revamped, my elementary school heart was elated. "The Powerpuff Girls" were my absolute favorite TV show throughout my childhood. Looking back, I realized that a lot of the beliefs I hold now are rooted in this badass kid show. Maybe Powerpuff Girls influenced me more than I thought.
1. Girls are tough.
If Buttercup was any example of this at the very least. However, all three girls showed a level of toughness that my little-girl self aspired to achieve.
2. Sometimes those that are in charge don't know best.
The mayor was a pretty big idiot.
3. Sugar, spice and everything nice adds up to a pretty sweet deal.
Being a girl is awesome majority of the time, and having these three superheroes as a role model sure emphasized that. The Powerpuff Girls weren't afraid to be girly, and they still kicked Mojo Jojo's butt.
4. Single parents rock.
The professor raised three pretty awesome kids.
5. Puns are great, especially when they emphasize how competent women in power on.
Miss Sara Bellum? Like Cerebellum? We know who the brains in the mayor's office actually was.
6. Animal abuse is not OK.
If the giant zombie hamster was any indication.
7. Money doesn't equate to greatness.
Princess Mobucks was still a villain after all.
8. Science is pretty nifty.
The Powerpuff girls were created through science, and they also emphasized a love of the subject throughout the show — especially Professor Utonium.
9. Sometimes you have to kill them with kindness.
When the girls were having trouble fighting the Rowdyruff Boys, they ultimately defeated them through extreme kindness.
10. Masculinity is a fragile thing among males.
In fact, the Rowdyruff Boys would shrink every time their fragile "masculinity" was threatened.
11. Being sensitive is alright, too.
You can still be an awesome superhero if you show your sensitive side sometimes. Bubbles frequently did.
12. Your unique qualities make you special.
The professor said it best. If others don't understand you, that's their loss.
13. Don't question other's decisions about how they display themselves, especially not cross-dressing.
One word: Him.
14. You can still make an effective team, even though each member is different.
The Powerpuff Girls were all extremely distinct in their personas, but despite this, they continued to cooperate and fight evil together.
15. Feminism isn't just about girls.
The Powerpuff girls experienced a misandrous mindset from a villain named Femme Fatale. They learn that equality is more important than special treatment for any gender.
16. Everyone has their off days.
Sometimes you turn into Mojo Jojo, sometimes you forget to set your alarm.
