"New year, new me" is a highly used catch phrase used at the start of the new year.
Although most people like to say it as a joke, or only start off believing it could be true, the majority of us never really try to change. What's the point anyway? If we really wanted to rid of old, awful habits we shouldn't wait until January 1st right? There are plenty things that we could and should leave behind, let go of, and try to change in the new year.
It might not be easy, but it's the thought that counts!
1. Procrastination/laziness
It's so easy to push off doing what needs to get done and to save it for tomorrow- except when tomorrow becomes the next day, and the next day, and the next day.
2. Bad friends
If you have friends who never reach out to you first, use you, or are just plain awful, it's time to kick them to the curb.
3. Anyone who doesn't support your dreams
People who make fun of your goals and don't support your ambitions do not deserve a place in your life.
4. Drama
Drama is so last year and not worth anyone's time.
5. Spending money on useless things
It is nearly impossible to save your money, but I promise if you stop spending bills like they grows on trees, you'll be thankful.
6. F*ckboys
This one is self explanatory, right? Leave him behind girl.
7. Cheap vodka
There are very few things I am picky about, but I'd prefer not to drink nail polish. I suggest you think the same.
8. Complaining
Everyone complains, and it's hard not to, but use the new year as a time to appreciate all the good in your life. Complaining just starts to get annoying.
9. Waking up at 12pm or later
Try waking up earlier. You will have more time to get things done and won't be missing out on half the day.
10. Playing it safe
Nothing good ever comes from doing what is expected. Say yes.
11. Excuses
Your excuses are getting old and lame. If you want something done, just do it.
12. Fear
Fear can be scary sometimes (or all the time.) Whether is fear or rejection, heights, or doing something you've never done before, we've all been there. The only thing we really have to fear is fear itself.
13. Trying to impress everyone you meet
Not everyone you meet is going to like you and that's okay.
14. Judging others and letting other people judge you
Who really cares about what you say or do anyway?
15. Social media
If we really lose net neutrality this shouldn't be too difficult. But really, social media consumes our lives way too much. Cutting back can really make a difference.
16. That job you hate
Q-U-I-T.
17. Bad study habits
College is no joke. The workload is heavy and the material is tough, so it's important more than ever to study the right way.
Use 2018 to make good choices!
