17 Thank Yous To My Guy Best Friend

A guy best friend is one of the most important people in a girl's life. Mine has made me a better person since the day we met, and for that I owe him many thank you's.

1. Thank you for never letting us drift apart

It is not easy maintaining a friendship for as long as we have. Being friends since the fourth grade, we went from being young children to young adults together. Though we both have busy schedules, you always found a way to be a major part of my life and I am not sure what I would do without you

2. Thank you for getting me through high school

Mid-day locker conversations were what got me through the rest of the day. Not one day of high school did I ever see you without a smile on your face. Your happiness was annoying, but contagious

3. Thank you for being protective

I never appreciated it, but you were always looking out for me. Whether it was about boys (which I always needed but hated hearing), friends (even though you are the most high-maintenance person I know), and everything else, you have always had my best interest at heart

4. Thank you for always answering my calls

When I have the worst day and nothing seems to go right, all I want to do is talk to my best friend. You are always ready to talk everything out with me, no matter what time of day it is. I am sorry for the calls that come in after midnight, advice does not wait for dawn

5. Thank you for never having a filter with me

You are the person I never have to worry about my tone or language with when we are speaking because you do not worry about it either. We have no boundaries and can talk about any subject at any time

6. Thank you for being my wing man

You always know exactly when it is acceptable to follow someone on social media or how to word a text message

7. Thank you for taking me out of my comfort zone

I am not always the most courageous person, but you are the most outgoing and adventurous person I know. You always know how to drag me along with you

8. Thank you for always encouraging me

You always build my confidence and reassure me that I can do anything I put my mind to. Sometimes I think you believe in me more than I believe in myself, and I appreciate you for that

9. Thank you for letting me cry

I can get emotional at times. But, you always let me cry it out before attempting to comfort me

10. Thank you for taking me to prom

We looked amazing, ate great food, and danced to good music. It is one of my favorite high school memories, and I got to spend it with you

11. Thank you for making me laugh until I cry

I do not say this often, but you are actually very funny

12. Thank you for coming over for holidays

There is no one I would rather sit next to on Thanksgiving or Easter and have meet my family. Plus I know you love the embarrassing stories you get to hear

13. Thank you for letting me be myself

I am a fast-talking, loud, and energetic girl. Not many people can deal with that personality, but you have always embraced me for who I am

14. Thank you for always telling me when I'm wrong

You think you are always right, so you tell me this everyday. When I am actually wrong though, you know that I need to hear it

15. Thank you for playing country music even when I complained

I might be making appearances to a few country concerts this summer now

16. Thank you for sticking around, even when I didn't want you to

Like all friendships, we have had our share of highs and lows. Even when I thought we would never speak again or had no desire to see you, you never believed that would happen. You were always there waiting

17. Thank you for knowing when I'm lying, even to myself

I can never thank you enough for all that you do. It is rare to have someone change your life like you have changed mine. Thank you for being my guy best friend for the past nine years, and thank you for being you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
