I love having blonde hair, but there are a few unique struggles that come along with having naturally golden locks.
1. Blonde eyebrows, blonde eyelashes.
Did you know I wear way more makeup than it appears?
2. With blonde hair comes fair skin.
Beware of the sun. Having pale skin is fine, but getting sunburned is worse.
3. Blonde hair and blue eyes.
Protect those peepers. Did you know blue eyes can also get sunburned? Wear sunglasses ALL THE TIME.

4. Dumb blonde jokes.
Want to poke fun? Go chat to my 4.0 GPA. Blonde hair doesn't go with any stereotypes.
5. Seasonal changes.
Surprisingly, my hair becomes a darker shade of blonde in the winter, but it also changes color and gets lighter in summer. #naturalhighlights
6. Farewell fall lipsticks.
Good thing I like the "natural" makeup look because otherwise it's too much work to define my fair, pale features. Those dark lipsticks that are in style during the autumn months never look good on me.
7. Blonde bobby pins.
I can never find them in the store. Where are they? Fun fact: about 2% of the world's population is naturally blonde because it grows darker as an adult. That's 1 out of 20 Americans.
8. Youthful?
I'm 90% sure blonde hair makes people look younger than their actual age. I'm not complaining that I look young... much.
9. We can spot dyed blonde hair easily.
It's fairly obvious, look at the eyebrows.
10. Hair envy.
When people dye their hair blonde and it looks as good as mine, I am jealous and impressed that it looks "natural." Good for them, at least I don't have to deal with root regrowth.
11. We have real problems.
Pool chlorine turns hair green and thin strands become easily greasy.
12. Anti-change.
Every time I try to do something to change my hair slightly, I instantly hate it.
13. Overdressed and stressed.
Red lipstick is too glamorous for casual outfits. In contrast, if I wear waves it looks like I should be going to the beach. Whatever I do, my hair stands out.
14. Bad hair days.
Believe it or not, there are some horrible, bad hair days too (rarely though).
15. I usually don't know what's in style because my hair always looks good.
Envious of my hair? Sorry not sorry. It's my go-to fashion statement.
16. Being judged.
I'm fairly certain that strangers are occasionally biased, good or bad, based on the appearance of blonde hair. Admittedly, there are many stereotypes about blondes.
17. Hairdresser flattery.
A trip to the salon is awkward when the hairdresser obsesses over my hair color. I'm flattered, really, but can we get on with this after the millionth time in my life? And no, I don't wish for my hair color to be available in a dye like you do because it makes me unique.
Also, every single time I go there, they threaten me to never change my hair color... psssh, as if.
