The oncoming of Halloween means not only an excuse for you to dress up, do your make-up all crazy, and eat copious amounts of candy corn or caramel covered apples. It is also an excuse to get together with all your friends, family, neighbors - whoever you see fit and have a great party. But no party is complete without a proper playlist. So here are seventeen songs that are sure to keep your Halloween party going.

(Obviously there are a lot more songs than I list that would fit well on a Halloween playlist, but here are some I think can bring a good mix of genres - in order to satisfy all music tastes - to the party.)

1. Thriller by Michael Jackson

It's the classic, the OG, the GOAT of all Halloween songs. I'm not sure if that's what MJ was going for when the song was written, but it sure happened. It's the song that everyone knows the words (and the dance) to. It's the song that goes great for parties with millennials and adults alike. You just can't go wrong having 'Thriller' on your playlist.

2. I Put A Spell On You by Credence Clearwater

Sure, it's no pop song, but it's a classic, bewitching tune. And if you don't recognize this version, try watching a little movie called "Hocus Pocus" and see if you remember it that way instead.

3. Superstition by Stevie Wonder

Another classic that you can associate with Halloween. Plus it's Stevie Wonder and who doesn't love hearing a little Stevie every now and then?

4. Abracadabra by Steve Miller Band

So this song is not so much about Halloween hauntings and spell casting as it is about trying to get a girl, but the title still brings that Halloween vibe. Abracadabra, witches, wizards... see? It totally works.

5. Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell

This song gives me total "1984" vibes with the whole someone's always watching thing. But isn't that all the fun of Halloween, especially when it comes to haunted houses and other scary activities? You never know who's there...

6. Howlin' For You by The Black Keys

Again, more about getting a girl than Halloween but it sure sounds like it could be related to... Let's say a werewolf?

7. Monster by Lady Gaga

This is definitely Gaga pre-Joanne era. That's all I gotta say here.

8. Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix) by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

I think I've heard this song at every Halloween party since "Project X" came out. It's a great, modern EDM hit that still gives off some spooky Halloween vibes that the party needs.

9. Disturbia by Rihanna

All hail the queen, RiRi, who created this song that I've been jamming to (on Halloween and not) since seventh grade!

10. I Want Candy by Aaron Carter

C'mon. It's Aaron Carter. I mean... c'mon.

11. Monster by Kanye West

It's Kanye. Who doesn't love hearing Kanye at a party?

12. Black Magic by Little Mix

The most modern song on this list comes from British girl group, Little Mix. I have to say, I'm not a big fan of girl groups, but this song is great. It's all about bewitching their crush to make him fall in love with them with black magic. It's cheesy and amazing all at once.

13. Supernatural by AlunaGeorge

This is the perfect song to bring those indietronic vibes to the party. Not so haunting as it is catchy, but the title fits perfectly with the Halloween theme.

14. Toxic by Britney Spears

From the moment the first note of the intro hits, everyone knows where the song is going. This is a classic and bound to get everyone at the party singing.

15. Ghost Town by Adam Lambert

This may be a good one to start the night with since the beginning is kind of slow. But once you get into the chorus, the bass picks up and so does the party.

16. Devil by Cash Cash

I don't know a time I've played this song and anyone was standing still. It's a perfect mix of rap and EDM to keep the upbeat party music going.

17. Men In Black by Will Smith

Not even going to deny that this is my favorite song on the list, and I have no shame admitting it. I think I know every word and hopefully you'll find someone (multiple people) at your party who appreciates it just as much.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
