We are almost three months into the new year, and there have already been so many new and wonderful songs that have been released. Here are the songs that are dominating my playlists, old and new. Go ahead, hit the repeat button!

1. “Death of a Bachelor” by Panic! At The Disco

This is one that is familiar to many of us. That falsetto…can’t get enough of Brendon Urie.

2. “Dirty Laundry" by Blackbear

No, this is not the new song by All Time Low.

3. “Thumbs” by Sabrina Carpenter

I heard this song for the first time last week and it caught my attention. It’s funny though how basically all Disney stars become singers.

4. “That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars’s music has always been some that I love to sing along to when it comes on the radio. This song is one that can get a little frisky, but still is great! Better yet, here is the video from the Grammy Awards!

5. “Fun” by Pitbull featuring Chris Brown

I found this song through Just Dance 2016, and I have zero regrets. When this song comes up on my shuffle I always take a dance break. For your pleasure, I added the video from Just Dance 2016.

6. “Caroline” by Aminé (Explicit)

My favorite part in this song is the part right after “I’m really lit” where he goes, “It’s lit!” It cracks me right up every time.

7. “Play in the Sheets” by Zak Diesal

Even though this song is insinuating something else, it brings back memories of me taking a nap in my nice warm sheets and watching Netflix. I wish I could make a living doing that, but here I am, a college student.

8. “Slumber Party” by Britney Spears featuring Tinashe

I have loved both Britney and Tinashe for years and I loved that they collaborated for this song. Turn it up and sing along with your girls because this time could not get any better.

9. “Marble Machine” by Wintergaten

This never fails to amaze me. Never. It blows my mind how someone could do this. Watch the video, it’s worth the four minutes.

10. “Helium” by Mikey Wax

If you EVER need a pick me up, listen to this song. It has already made me feel so much better this 2017.

11. “Guys My Age” by Hey Violet

This song is a great song if you just got through a breakup. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is reminded of Melanie Martinez by her music, too. The music video for this song isn’t bad either!

12. “Romantic” by Stanaj

This song is slower but so good. There is a remixed version of it as well if you aren’t feeling the slower vibes.

13. “Zombie” by CallMeKarizma

This song talks about the real issues of putting children onto prescription drugs for mental illnesses. “Oh, child. Open up for mommy. Eat this little candy and pretend that it is Halloween.”

14. “Paris” by The Chainsmokers

This song takes me away to a faraway place. I have always wanted to visit Paris, France, and this song helps take me there. Also, I am in love with Alexis Ren and so happy that she played the lead role in the “Paris” lyric video.

15. “Sounds Like You” by Kid Quill

He released the music video for this song on February 6th, 2017 and I love it! One of the instruments in this song is a trumpet and it is honestly one of the best things. The song is so catchy and gets stuck in my head all the time.

16. “Cotton Candy” by The Ready Set and CallMeKarizma

I saw Karizma in December and he debuted this song then, but it did not officially come out until February 5th, 2017. It is the perfect song to dance to and it will brighten up your day!

17. “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran

No lie, I listened to this song on repeat for three hours after it came out. You can ask my roommates if you don’t believe me. They keep saying I will get tired of this song, but I beg to differ.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
