A best friend is someone you tell everything to. Someone who is 100% there for you any time of the day. Someone who gives you a shoulder to cry on when needed, someone to vent to….even someone to talk about the Bachelor with. God gave us these people in our lives to help us get through with a little more sanity—and sometimes he gives us those people straight from our family. If you’ve already related to anything I just said, it could be a sign that your cousin is your best friend.
1. You have an embarrassing amount of pictures together.
Honestly, it’s a little ridiculous. And most of the time, it’s just a selfie.
2. Your first call or text is to them when something bad happens.
No matter if it’s a bad test or you just need to talk about what’s on your heart.
3. You recommend songs and books the other should look into
Need a good country song? They’ve got it. Need a good love story? Yep.
4. You support each other through everything.
The good times and the bad times, but the bad times bring out the best in your friendship.
5. If they’re older than you, you steal some of their fashion sense.
All those neon shirts and lace overtops (see above picture)—I invested in all that stuff.
6. They’re the first person that comes to mind when you can invite someone on a vacation.
You can’t imagine going on a trip without them after the first time!
7. You often get mistaken for sisters.
More than likely, if you’re related you probably look somewhat a like.
8. She has been there from the start.
She more than likely held you when you were a baby and thankfully didn’t drop you.
9. You tell each other absolutely everything that’s going on.
And you like to plan those times to talk about everything set to a marathon of "Pretty Little Liars" or [insert favorite show here]
10. You often schedule FaceTimes that end up going for two hours at the least.
You may or may not talk the entire time, but its the connection that counts.
11. Your favorite part of family get-togethers is seeing each other again.
12. They are the only friend that can understand the rest of your wacko family.
The aforementioned goes for this one too.
13. They let you meet their high school friends and hang out with them.
You felt like such a cool kid. You were hanging out with their friends, but you had a one-up on them because you were blood related to that best friend of yours.
14. You actively judged the boyfriend(s)
Enough said.
15. You actively talk about future plans (i.e. weddings) with them included in it.
Destination or Small….just as long as you’re a bridesmaid (or maid of honor!)
16. When you had fights in your friend group, they were always there...
…and they were always on your side.
17. All your friends know who your cousin is...
...just because you can’t help but brag about your best friend.
