Now that I am in college, I have become pretty close with my mom. This means that my mom and I probably tell each other more than we should. Sometimes I tell her that I skip class and she always says, "maybe you should not tell me some of these things." And sometimes, we talk about my younger brother and comparing his high school life to mine while worrying about all the things he is doing. At this point, I always get, "I know you did so many things in high school that I was not aware of, but obviously, you turned out fine now." Now, this may be true, but there were also so many things I did in middle school that you were not aware of, Mom. So, now you know all of my 17 little secrets that I have held in for way too long.
1. I used to sneak downstairs and get food after the kitchen was “closed.”
2. When I said I was doing homework I was really watching YouTube or reading a book or doing anything besides homework.

3. When you screamed down that it was time to leave and I screamed down, "Almost ready!” it really meant that I just jumped out of bed two seconds before and was getting ready at light speed.
4. I sometimes used to go to bed crying about how unfair you were.

5. I also used to go to bed thinking I was the luckiest child in the world.
6. When I was mad I used to think about running away.
7. But then I thought that I was too sheltered to make it in the big world, you would miss me WAY too much, and I only had $5.00 in coins in my Minnie Mouse piggy bank.

8. I drew on the walls, the carpet, the mirrors, the furniture, and half the time I cleaned it up after and the other half I pretended I had no clue how it got there.

9. I punched, kicked, yelled at, and bullied my younger brother, but convinced him to not tell you half the time.

10. I used to lick my dinner plate when you weren’t looking.
11. Before Christmas, I searched the house for "Santa" presents when you were at work.
12. When you were gone, the siblings and I would drink more soft drinks than you normally would let us.
13. When I went out to eat with my friend’s family, I blew bubbles in my drink because you never let me when I was with you.
14. Whenever you all went out to eat, us children never ate our veggies.
15. When you went out to eat and we had a bedtime, we really just ran upstairs and went to bed as soon as we knew you were on your way home.
16. The majority of the times when I said I had no homework, I was lying.
17. Finally, all the times that I screamed that I hated you, I actually really loved you.
Just wait until I am married and have children, then you can learn about all my college secrets ;)
