Move-in day. Oh, those words bring music to my ears. Here are some thoughts every new OR returning college student has during move-in day.

1. HOLY MOLY I MOVE IN TODAY DID I FORGET ANYTHING?!?! DO I HAVE MY CHARGER?? MY FAVORITE PILLOW?!! WHERE ARE MY COMMAND STRIPS????!?

This is probably one of the first things you'll think moving in. Random things could be shoved to the bottoms of boxes, you'll be running around frantically looking for things that are already stashed away, but somehow this stress is the happiest stress of your life.

2. I can't wait to see my roommate.

Being reunited, or meeting them, is the greatest thing in the world.

3. I should have worked out more this summer so I could push all these 100lb. carts around campus.

Moving all of your stuff up to your room is one heck of a workout.

4. Do we get any free stuff on move in day?

The answer is yes. A thousand times yes.

5. Yikes... my room is smaller than I thought it would be.

Dorm rooms are smaller than you're used to... but not as small as Buddy the Elf's house.

6. Did I bring too many clothes?

The answer is probably yes. You'll find that you wear the same 5 t-shirts over and over. Plus, college isn't a fashion show. People walk around in onesies and crocs. You'll survive without your whole closet.

7. Oh no, my room isn't air conditioned.

Unless you get lucky and end up in a newer residence hall, be prepared to sweat buckets, to bring fans, and to have your parents ask you every 5 seconds if you're sure the building doesn't have AC.

8. I hope I make friends with the people on my floor this year... I'm so weird they better like me.

Making friends on your floor is important. It's good to have friends from clubs and from class, but when you get back to your room at night, it's nice to hang out with some floor peeps and unwind. Just make sure you're being yourself.

9. Am I sure I have everything? I need to know now because once I'm done unpacking I can't leave campus or else I lose my parking spot.

This one is pretty self explanatory.

10. OMG when are my parents going to leave I finished unpacking hours ago.

Your parents will want to stay with you until the very last second. Just let them help, be patient, and agree with them because you'll have the whole rest of the year to be by yourself.

11. I hope my RA is chill with loud music.

Let's face it. We all love to blare our speakers from time to time. Let's just hope the RA is cool with it, too.

12. I hope I don't gain the freshman 15 this year...

"I probably won't. I can't drive around campus, I need to walk... and walking is exercise. So no.. I won't gain weight."

13. I'm going to utilize the free gym membership SO MUCH THIS YEAR!!!!

But then a month after move-in you realize you actually have to get out of bed to do so.

14. Wow, I'm actually independent now. Mom can't wake me up for my classes.

Make sure you pack an alarm clock, kids. Please.

15. I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE FREEDOM!!!!!

***spends all day watching netflix.

16. OMG. In less than a year I have to pack all of this stuff up again and go home. Time better go by slow.

The worst thing on move-in day is thinking THIS far ahead into the future. :(

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
