For those who are not familiar with who Leslie Knope is, she is Amy Poehler’s character in the highly amusing, "Parks and Recreation". In the beginning of the series, Knope is the Deputy Director of the Pawnee City Department of Parks and Recreation, among a slew of other titles and positions that she holds. What makes Knope such a memorable and lovable character is her undying dedication to the people of her beloved city of Pawnee. She is hardworking, motivated, confident and knows exactly what she wants and how to get it.
Recently, I’ve taken on a few leadership roles and responsibilities myself, and I couldn’t be happier. I genuinely enjoy having a demanding schedule because it gives me a purpose and keeps me accountable for my actions. Since then, a few of my friends saw a strange correlation between my extracurricular habits and Leslie Knope’s personality. We both enjoy taking on leadership positions, advancing our career paths and positively impacting our surroundings and communities. I won’t lie, I definitely love being compared to the likes of Leslie Knope, because even though she's a fictional character, she kicks ass in everything she does and is an amazing friend to everyone around her
