16 Signs You Are From A Small Town

I never realized how small my hometown was until I left it. There are gestures and traditions that I thought every town practiced but realized it was special and unique to smaller towns. The following are signs that you live in a close knit community.

1.When you say where you are from and no one ever knows where that is.

2. Or when people ask where you are from and you automatically say the town next to you that is more well-known.

3.You know everyone in your town.

4. You know everyone’s business in your town.

5.You are bound to run into someone at the local Quick Check even at 5:30 in the morning.

6.Chances are you know the local law enforcement too and always give a quick wave.

7. It doesn’t take very far on a jog to be at the border of your town.

8. When it’s Garage Sale Day you can hit every house in a day.

9. No-one knows how to pronounce your town’s name…What is a Pequannock?

10. You get shocked every time someone says their high school graduating class was more than 300 students.

11. You know the best places to eat (and the worst).

12. There are three main roads in your whole town.

13. It seems like everyone is somehow related.

14. The local fireworks show on the 4th of July is the highlight of the whole year.

15. When a new townie moves in you stare at them like a new shiny object.

16. It may seem like you want to move on to bigger and better things, but there is no place like your small hometown.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
