After thanksgiving rolls around, Christmas starts creeping up. These are 16 signs that Christmas is for sure coming!

1. Everywhere you go Christmas Music is Playing

Wherever you go and I mean ANYWHERE there always seems to be Christmas music playing. Whether that be subtly in the background or blasting, it's ALWAYS there.

2. The mall and pretty much anywhere you go is packed

You can't go anywhere without huge lines or huge crowds of people.


3. ABC Families "25 Days of Christmas" is on

Elf and Home Alone are played 3 times a day along with a bunch of other Christmas movies.

4. Your bank account is drained

Between buying presents for friends and family and paying for fun Christmas activities, your bank account definitely suffers during December.

5. When every other station starts playing Christmas Music

When you're just trying to listen to music but every other station is Christmas Music

6. You're extremely busy

People want to make plans with you, you have to work a few extra hours to make money for gifts, and have to run around for gifts, you suddenly feel swamped with business.

7. Christmas Commercials start to play on every station

Whenever you're just watching TV, every commercial is Christmas themed.

8. Tree lightings start happening

Whether this is in your local town, Campus Martius, or watching Rockefeller Center's on TV, they seem to pop up everywhere.

9. Christmas lights are EVERYWHERE

Christmas lights begin to pop up everywhere. Whether they are hung on houses, restaurants, or the mall, they're EVERYWHERE.

10. Salvation Army Santas pop up everywhere

The Salvation Army workers begin to dress like Santa and stand outside every supermarket.

11. Your neighbors begin to have light wars

One day your one neighbor puts up some lights and your other neighbor starts to as well. The next thing you know both of their houses light up like a Christmas tree.

12. Christmas Window Displays

Every store you pass or every store at mall seems to have Christmas displays.

13. Roadside Christmas shops are popping up at EVERY corner

Every street you seem to go to has the roadside Christmas tree shops

14. You get a new Christmas Card in the mail every day

Every day your mail overflows with Christmas cards even from people you haven't talked to in years.

15. Your family members start nagging you about what you want for Christmas

Every day you're getting texts and calls asking what you want for Christmas

16. Starbucks changes their Fall drinks to their Christmas ones

Starbucks gets their red cups and changes their "Pumpkin Spice Latte" to their "Gingerbread Latte"

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from.
