Oh, snap! Disney is about to bring back yet another classic show from your childhood (first Boy Meets World, then Full House…keep it coming, Disney). After co-hosting the View for a year and a half, Raven Symoné has announced her plans to leave the show and reunite with Disney Channel for a spinoff of “That’s So Raven”. Basically, that’s so all we’ve ever wanted.
Instead of playing the sassy teen we know and love, Raven will take on the role of the sassy divorced mother with two pre-teen kids (a son and a daughter) in the new untitled show. Supposedly, one of Raven’s kids has inherited her ability to see the future -- twice the visions, twice the fun, right?
The show originally made waves when it premiered in 2003 and became an instant hit with Raven Symoné at the center of it all. “Her performance in ‘That’s So Raven’ is timeless,” says Adam Bonnet, executive vice president of original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide. “We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”
Known for her outspoken opinions and comedic relief, Raven-Symoné will executive-produce the new comedic series. That being said, we can be assured this spinoff will revolve around real world issues in a relaxed and friendly environment, a trend set by the original show back in 2003. But that’s only one reason we loved the show -- here are 16 reasons to be excited about the “That’s So Raven” spin-off.
1. Raven’s sass is unbeatable.
2. The theme song is killer.
3. Raven reminds us we're ALL beautiful.
4. The surprising, misleading and mysterious visions keep us guessing.
5. But sometimes they don't.
6. The Boys In Motion gave you their devotion, 'nuff said.
7. Seriously, they were the first to twerk.
8. Raven keeps it real.
9. She also uses rhymes to inspire healthy habits.
10. Though sassy, she doesn't judge.
11. Raven was the master of disguise.
12. She's also pretty insightful.
13. And never lets anyone push her around.
14. There was this giant pizza that Raven basically made "sauce angels" in.
15. Corey Baxter is the cutest, scheme-ist little brother we know.
16. "That's So Raven" always keeps us laughing.
The show about a physic teen was a classic hit for many children and families back in 2003. After the success of other revival Disney shows, the standards for the up and coming "That's So Raven" spin-off are set pretty high. But with Raven Symoné starring and executive producing, it's bound to be an entertaining series. And, if you have never watched "That's So Raven" well...
