Why stay at Super 8 when you can make your hotel the destination instead of the collateral necessity? Don't stop making memories when you turn in for the evening. Here are 16 hotels that you'll never forget.

1. Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort

Lapland, Finland

At Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, you can sleep under the Northern Lights while staying warm and toasty in your panoramic glass igloo. If you're feeling even more adventurous, you can stay in a snow igloo. During the day, you can go dog sledding on a "husky safari", dip into the frigid waters of the Bay of Bothnia on an icebreakers cruise, pan for gold, go skiing or snowboarding, or hike up a nearby mountain during Lapland's midnight sun.

2. Treetops Lodge

Nyeri, Kenya

Built in Aberdare National Park, Treetops Lodge is in the middle of an elephant migratory route. It has a natural watering hole right outside and guests can view the elephants and buffalo from nearly anywhere in the building. Each room is equipped with a buzzer to alert guests of game sightings near the lodge. In their down time, guests can participate in game drives and even plant a tree to help Treetop's "Return the Bush" initiative to rehabilitate the surrounding land.

3. The Manta Resort Underwater Room

Pemba Island, Zanzibar

The Manta Resort has lots of luxury rooms and villas to choose from, but none are quite as unique as The Manta Resort Underwater Room. The room is more like a small floating private island, with a top deck for you to enjoy the sunshine and an underwater bedroom below with nearly 360 degrees of ocean for you to watch the marine life swim by. Snorkel gear is included for those who would rather be one with the fish!

4. Jules' Undersea Lodge

Key Largo, Florida

First used as a research laboratory, Jules' Undersea Lodge sits 21 feet below the surface and can only be reached by SCUBA diving. Despite being five feet from the ocean floor, you'll feel right at home with the lodge's wifi, DVD player, iHome and air conditioning. The overnight package even includes a pizza delivery (via SCUBA delivery man, of course).

5. White Desert

Antarctica

If you've been to the other six, you've probably dreamt about visiting the seventh continent. Usually, the only way to get there is to become an Antarctic researcher or take day trips and stay on a boat. White Desert has changed all of that. They will fly you from Cape Town, South Africa to the interior of Antarctica where you can sleep in a cozy heated pod. When you're not busy thinking about how awesome it is that you're in Antarctica, you can go rock climbing or kite skiing, visit Emperor penguin colonies, check out ice caves or towering frozen waves, tour a research base, walk around the world at the South Pole, or summit unclimbed mountain peaks.

6. Attrap' Reves Hotel

Chemin de la Ribassière, France

Why sleep in a tent when you could sleep in a private bubble? At Attrap’ Reves Hotel, you can enjoy nature without all the bugs. Have a caterer bring you a meal or call the masseuse to relax away your aches. Take a look up at the Milky Way and then get an even better look with the telescope and star chart provided in your room.

7. IceHotel

Jukkasjärvi, Sweden

IceHotel is so much more than just sleeping in an igloo. The artist designed rooms are rebuilt year after year to create a unique experience for every season. Nearly everything in IceHotel is made of snow and ice including the IceBar where even the glasses are made of ice. Take an overnight Northern Lights snowmobile excursion, learn how to carve ice sculptures, go for a scenic horseback ride or relax in the sauna. When you're ready to go home, you and all your stuff can get back to the airport via dogsled.

8. Palacio de Sal

Uyuni, Bolivia

The Palacio de Sal was built in 1998 and is made entirely of salt: floors, walls, tables, and chairs. The hotel has everything you could ask for: a buffet, a game room, and a sun terrace. When you're not at the hotel, check out the salt flat, a variety of beautiful salt lakes, a geothermal field or historic towns nearby.

9. The Grand Canyon Caverns

Peach Springs, Arizona

How do you feel about sleeping underground? How about 220 feet underground at The Grand Canyon Caverns? This 200x400-foot hotel room is absent of any light and is only accessible by elevator. Don't worry about bats or other cave creatures--even they can't live in these zero humidity conditions. The room isn't only the driest, deepest and darkest, but it's also the quietest, allowing you to hear only your heartbeat and your breath.

10. Giraffe Manor

Nairobi, Kenya

Giraffe Manor is just like any other quaint hotel--except it has a herd of wild resident giraffes that often visit in the morning and evenings. Feeding a wild giraffe as you sip on your morning coffee isn't something you do every day, unless you're staying at Giraffe Manor. You can also take guided sanctuary walks and meet a baby elephant.

11. Propeller Island City Lodge

Berlin, Germany

You want me to sleep where?! At Propeller Island City Lodge you can sleep in a coffin. No, seriously. But don't worry, if that's a little too edgy for you. You can also sleep in the labyrinth below or in one of the other artist-designed rooms including a jail cell, a cage or a room lined entirely with differently angled mirrors.

12. Das Park Hotel

Ottensheim, Austria

Speaking of weird things to sleep in, how about a sewage pipe segment at Das Park Hotel? The rooms are accessible by keypad when you reserve it online, meaning there's no check-in desk. There is, however, a mattress, blankets, sleeping bags and an outlet to charge your phone. Many of the rooms also have artist-rendered wall paintings to make them a little cozier.

13. Null Stern Hotel

Gasslihof, Switzerland

There is no roof and there are no walls, but there is an amazing, unobstructed view of the Swiss Alps at Null Stern Hotel. Oh, and it comes with a butler who will bring you breakfast in bed.

14. Capsulevalue Kanda

Tokyo, Japan

Whether you're into the minimalist way of life and are trying to save a few bucks, or if you're just really into seeing how it would feel to sleep in a morgue, Capsulevalue Kanda has got you covered. The capsule itself offers a TV, radio, alarm, dimmer and outlet--all of which can be controlled on a panel. There's also a communal bathhouse and business lounge available at the hotel. Note: not recommended if you're easily claustrophobic.

15. Free Spirit Spheres

Vancouver Island, Canada

If you like napping in your hammock, you'll love gently swaying in the breeze in Free Spirit Spheres. Suspended 10'-15' from trees on the forest floor in the coastal rainforest of the Pacific Northwest, these spheres give "one with nature" a whole new meaning. They're available to rent year-round and come with access to a bathhouse and sauna on the ground.

16. Skylodge Adventure Suites

Cuzco, Peru

Ever want to just hang out on the side of a mountain? You can at Skylodge Adventure Suites, where you'll sleep in a transparent pod overlooking the Sacred Valley of Peru. The experience includes a hike with ziplines or a mountain climb, a gourmet dinner with wine, breakfast and guides.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
