There comes a point in every living being's life in which they just...give up. Some days it's because of physical exhaustion, some days it's emotional stress, and some days, life just gets you down in every possible way.
They say, "when the going gets tough, the tough get going," but these adorable little critters would argue that when the going gets tough, the tough give up and take a nap. Or the tough become passive aggressive.
1. When you fight so hard but give up anyways
Ah, the "2-P.M. feeling." We all know it and we all try to fight it until we ultimately wake up with keyboard imprints on our foreheads and a sense of self-disgust in our hearts.
2. Sometimes it's just a firm no.
Work today? Cook today? Clean today? Get out of bed today? Sorry, it's just not on my schedule.
3. Falling short sucks
Some days you try so hard to fight against that nagging urge to give up. You keep pushing, trying to hang on to that last thread of productivity left connecting you to your extensive to-do list. You fail anyways and, honestly, nothing sucks more. Maybe you should have given up while you were ahead.
4. Some days, you just don't want to move
Nothing is more difficult than getting out of a warm and fluffy bed on a cold winter's morning and that is a fact that no living being can deny. Just five more minutes mom?
5. "I promise I'm trying...honestly."
No really, it just looks like I'm putting for the minimal amount of effort to get credit for showing up to class. Sure, I'm still in my pajamas and my hair hasn't been brushed weeks but who said hygiene counted for any grade? Now, if you need me, I'll be sitting in the back of the class with my very unsuspicious sunglasses on. If I slump over at any point, I'm just taking very attentive notes.
6. This looks like a great spot to just give up
Again, you tried so hard but somehow ended up with more than you can handle, even on a good day. Sometimes, you just have to quit while your ahead and at least spare yourself the extra embarrassment.
7. Responsibilities? I think not.
Some days are just one of those days where you're busy doing absolutely nothing all day. Avoiding responsibilities is a hard job but somebody has to do it.
8. If I just ignore it, maybe it'll go away
If you don't acknowledge a task, does it really even exist? Of course not, because you weren't going to do it anyways.
9. But do I HAAAAAVE to?
Griping and complaining doesn't get you anywhere, it just delays your start on a task and puts you even farther off of your schedule of doing absolutely nothing. But at least you feel like it was your decision to be productive because you fought a hard fight against it first.
10. Just inch away slowly and nobody will notice
Maybe if I just slowly walk away, everybody will forget I was even here in the first place. I am a stealthy ninja, never seen, never heard, never doing anything productive.
11. That's the final straw
Go ahead, try to force me to do something I don't want to do. I'm not saying I'll do anything, but you will regret it.
12. Sometimes you just have to throw a tantrum first
Something about raising a scene and making some noise makes you feel justified when you do decide to roll out of bed and be productive. I fought for this, this is my choice so it's a great choice.
13. Just go with it, it'll get better
Other days, you just go with the flow and hope it doesn't take too long so you can go back to bed. Just don't get too complacent, you don't want those reports ending up at your mother's house instead of the client's office.
14. This looks like a great place for a nap
Naps are great. Naps in class? Naps at work? Naps behind the wheel? Not so much. Choose your nap location carefully.
15. Well, this started off pleasantly enough
The worst part of going along with plans you didn't want to be a part of in the first place is when your promise to yourself that "it'll be fun, just go with it" fails. Next time, just stay in bed.
16. But you always remember to hang in there.
But no matter how much you want to avoid them, responsibilities will hunt you down and force themselves into your life. Don't fight them, they help you make a living and lead a happy life. Just hang in there, it will get better.
