Spring break is the best and worst thing about the spring semester. It felt absolutely amazing to spend a week away from the dreadful exams and papers that have been shaping us into these sleep-deprived, caffeine-driven monsters. Expected to feel rejuvenated, we come back from spring break with a little more physical strength, but have zero motivation to finish this semester. Mentally, we have no resilience to make ourselves those energetic and optimistic people who wanted this semester to be the best one yet back in January. Here are all our struggles as told by "Parks and Recreation."
1. Avoiding all your responsibilities
Much like Ron Swanson, you wish that you can just keep turning away from all your problems. Out of sight, out of mind!
2. Being overwhelmed by anything your professor says
Excuse me? What do you mean that finals is due in five weeks? I just got back from spring break and I left my brain in Cancun.
3. Being irritated by anything and everything
(Writer's personal experience: yesterday, I saw four freshmen girls share one cigarette, and all take selfies when it was their turn...)
4. Drinking to get through the day
Maybe if you drink, the semester will go by quicker.
5. Not understanding why your professors aren't buying your BS
"What! I can't believe I didn't get an A on this paper that I spent half an hour on!"
6. Overreacting about everything
"Accidentally drops pencil*. Well, I guess college isn't for me after all."
7. Trying your best
No matter how hard you try, it just seems like your body is rejecting all the work.
8. Indulging
Even though you only wrote your name in MLA format, you still somehow justify a break.
9. Being super lazy
You wake up in the morning and think about how good it would feel to go to bed at night.
10. Wanting a hug from your friend... or wanting to be licked by a puppy
You just need a little support sometimes, and puppies can make everyone feel better about themselves.
11. Rejecting everything
Doesn't matter what it is, you don't want to have anything to do with it. Don't wanna see it, don't wanna go to it, just... No.
12. Being emotional and denying the heck out of it
"Watches a cute movie*. NO, I WILL NOT CRY!
13. Being super in touch with your emotions a minute late
Feel as happy as Ron Swanson does the day after he gets laid. Pimp out Tiger Woods Style.
14. Isolating yourself from all things and people
You just want everyone to stop talking to you. Don't text, don't call, don't BREATHE!
15. Knowing you still have to be doing your work
As much as you dread it, you still finish your homework and actually go to class.
Motivating yourself to finish this semester is hard, but you can do it, because you know that college is actually pretty amazing, well, most of the times.
