George Bernard Shaw once said, “Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” We all have dreams and desires in life. Things we want to do. Places we want to see. People, we want to love.
Sometimes we succeed in not letting the small things in life pass us by, but we all know that it does go on, no matter what happens. We have our whole lives ahead of us and it's okay to dream and wish for things you want to accomplish!
Here are 15 things I want to do before I turn 50:
Go to grad school somewhere outside of New York.
Going to grad school either in Boston, California or even across the Atlantic would be an incredible experience. A new environment will help keep the learning process going after I complete my undergraduate degree.
Buy a brand new car.
Not just a new car for me, but a brand new car where I'm the first owner. Something about owning a brand new car...the new car smell...all of those new gadgets...and a few car payments.
Buy a house by the shore for a summer home.
Like one of those homes in Nicholas Sparks' movies where I can sit on the porch and watch the birds fly in unison.
Travel somewhere outside of the United States that’s not Europe, Canada, or Mexico.
Learning about a new culture and immersing myself in it would be an amazing experience for a couple of weeks!
Visit every state in the United States.
Road trip! I'd love to be able to say I've been to all fifty states!
Get a tattoo.
Just a small one. Something simple, but meaningful to me.
Build a library in my house, stock in with tons of books, and then read every book.
You can never read too much.
Own a pet or two.
I've always wanted a dog and being able to wake up to a furry friend every morning would make every morning a great one.
Do something I would be afraid to do like skydiving.
Pushing me outside of my comfort zone.
See every movie that has been nominated or won an Oscar.
Watching all the great works and more.
Build a treehouse for my kids.
I always wanted a treehouse, but since I never really had the backyard for it. It would be a fun experience building the treehouse with my kids so they can have a little hideout of their own.
Grow a garden in the backyard.
Growing plants and flowers take time and commitment, which sounds like a great task to take on.
Write a book.
One of the top things on my bucket list.
Live in Europe for a year or two.
Ever since I read Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice", I was hooked on living in Europe.
Pick a road and just drive till I can’t drive anymore.
Because life is a journey and it's all about the roads you take.
