1. One word: mums

For non-Texans, mums are a huge grouping of fake flowers that you pay a ton of money for to only wear one night.

2. Squatting in wildflowers on the side of the highway to take pictures

Did someone say bluebonnets?

3. Texans can eat Mexican food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

If you’ve ever had a breakfast taco outside the state of Texas, you haven’t actually had a breakfast taco.

4. Same goes for BBQ

Heard of brisket breakfast burritos?

5. Texas shaped waffles

Don't mess with breakfast.

6. Texas’ favorite pastime: football

Football isn’t a sport; it’s a lifestyle

7. All carbonated beverages are referred to as “Coke.”

But Dr. Pepper is the state drink.

8. Whataburger is best served between 12-3 a.m.

Tons of memories shared here.

9. If you can eat it, Texans will fry it

Butter, Oreos, bacon, and s'mores, just to name a few.

10. Our gas stations are like grocery stores

And stopping to take a picture with the beaver at Buc-ee's is a must on Texas road trips.

11. Road trips down I-35 always include a stop at the Czech Stop

Best kolaches EVER.

12. Bluebell is a staple

Ben & Jerry’s? No.

13. When you ask for tea, it’s automatically assumed you want sweet tea

Unsweet tea is for Yankees.

14. “Y’all” has many multiple contractions

Y’all’d’ve: You all should/would have.

All y’all: All you all.

Y’all’must’ve: You all must have.

15. Christmas dinner normally includes tamales

Forget the ham... it’s tamale time!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
