15 Things I Learned From My Dog

When I was thinking about what to write this week, all I wanted to do was share cute pictures of my dog, Sadie May. Sadie is a full-blood pitbull, who is the absolute joy of my life. Pets hold a special place in all of our hearts, but Sadie truly has taught me so much about life, just by being her goofy self.

1. That having a celebrity look-a-like is a cool thing.

Sadie May is actually the dog version of Eeyore!!

2. You can always find a place to nap.

Sadie thinks she is a human being, because she takes up the entire bed and snores.

3. Don't be afraid to ask for more food.

Basically a constant thought in every college student's mind.

4. Never take life too seriously.

She just looked really dramatic here.

5. Being weird is completely acceptable.

Her one ear kind of looks like an antenna.

6. Puppy-dog eyes can get you the extra treat.

Who can say no to that face???

7. Keep smiling, even when life gets ruff.

You cannot tell me that didn't just make you smile.

8. Be there for your friends no matter what.

No matter what you do in life, you'll need friends along the way.

9. It's OK to take a lazy day.

Especially if you've written two papers and a taken final in one day.

10. Stand up tall wherever you go.

Always walk into a room like you own it.

11. Keep a positive attitude for a positive life.

Remember it takes less energy to smile than it does to frown!!

12. Run run as fast as your little legs can take you.

Especially when you're racing someone.

13. Don't take s*** from anyone.

Be the baddest dog in town, and don't let anyone push you around.

14. It's OK to have a bad day and need some relaxation.

We've all been there.

15. Give back to other people.

Sadie gives back to me all the time with love and uncontrollable laughter, make sure you do the same for those awesome people in your life!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
