15 Thing That Happened to Your Pledge Class

It all started on bid day which was, honestly, pretty awkward. You were covered in glitter and sweat and you looked kind of like a cult in matching t-shirts. After bid day all of these things probably happened to you and are the reason you love your pledge class so much.

  1. In the beginning you only knew three of their names so you referred to everyone as “girl."
  2. You sat together in one big group at the first few chapters -- strength in numbers.
  3. The best part of your morning is reading the stories about last night in the Groupme.
  4. Your Groupme is probably called “Trap Queens," or “Dancing Queens," or something.
  5. The most embarrassing pictures ever taken of you were put in your Groupme and people added memes, and it just got really bad.
  6. You had to silence your Groupme because you got 8,000 notifications.
  7. You go to insane extents to say hi to each other in public. This is includes screaming across the street and knocking on windows.
  8. You go out together in groups of ten or more.
  9. If you didn't go out with girls in your PC you probably leave with them.
  10. At least three of you wanted the same big.
  11. You all fought over the five beds at the new member retreat. You probably ended up sleeping on the floor.
  12. You sat through hours of new member training and then had to cram for your new member test. This includes watching one girl try to recite your creed 40 times before she got it right (extra points if that girl was you)
  13. Initiation -- it only took about 12 hours.
  14. You guys can't stop talking about how excited you are to take littles.
  15. If more than four of you are together, at least two of you are wearing the same shirt.

Shoutout to my pledge class. I love ya'll.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
