For anyone in Florida, summer is the perfect time for beach trips, binge-watching your favorite shows, and taking fast-paced classes that don't offer Bright Futures scholarships. I applaud us all for enduring this torture--I mean for excelling in our degrees! Lucky for you readers, Dr. Mindy Lahiri and her crew are here to prep you for the summer semester by explaining the different stages you will experience:

1. The First Day Of Class

Maybe you're taking the class to get ahead, to catch up, or to fulfill the state's requirement for summer classes. Either way, you come in with high hopes that summer classes go by fast and easy.

2. The Summer Bod Promise

You gotta look good by the pool when you're not in class, so you pick the perfect workout plan to get that hot summer bod.

3. The First Set Of Exams

Reality sets in that shorter semesters=less time for an overload of information.

4. The New Friendships

You figure out that the other students in summer classes are pretty chill and you can actually see yourself hanging out with them outside of class.

5. The Initial Party Period

You decide summer is the time to practice that balance of work and social life so you go to the frat parties ready to have a good time.

6. The Initial Post-Party Lecture

How is the keg-stand feeling today?

7. The Struggle To Keep Summer Bod Promise

So many stressors... So many temptations...

8. The Acceptance That Summer Semester Is Not Going To Get Easier

You must persevere!

9. The Stu(dying) Period

You study with your new friends in the hopes that it will take away some of the agony. They always boost your spirits.

10. The Second Party Period

You and your friends can't pretend to study any longer.

11. The second Post-Party Lecture

You might have been too hung over to realize you forgot a notebook. So you take creativity to a whole new level.

12. The Greek Life Consideration

All the cool people you've met this summer are either in Greek life or plan on joining in the fall and they want you to join in making the "best decision of your life."

13. The Failure To Keep Summer Bod Promise

The beach is just gonna have to get whatever body you give it!

14. The Hustle

You see the light at the end of the tunnel so you basically live in the library to cram the whole course into a few days. Remember, you are a warrior.

15. The Unveiling Of Final Grades

You're nervous but you're excited because the end of summer semester means more summer vacation!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
