Crushes are the worst. They're like catching a cold -- they come on suddenly and develop and leave you feeling all the feels. The worst part is figuring out if you should pursue the crush or let it fester and die (which can also depend on who the crush is on, if they're a friend, or a celeb, or someone you passed on the street). Crushes also seem to develop in stages. Therefore, I give you the stages of a crush:
1. You know, I've been thinking...this person is really nice.
2. Looks like we have some stuff in common.
3. LOL, they're fun to be around, we should hang out more.
4. Wow, you know, they're kind of attractive. How did I not notice this before?
5. Oh hey, I just got a notification from them. OH! THEY LIKED SOMETHING!
6. Erm...I kind of want to ask them out. JUST for something SUPER CASUAL...get to know them a little better, you know?
7. Hmm...yeah I don't know how to do that without making it suuuuuuper obvious, or suspicious, or awkward.
8. Wait, do they even like me that way? They probably don't have a crush on me...
9. Is this even worth the feels?
10. OMG IT WILL BE FINE GET IT TOGETHER.
11. How do relationships start anyway? How does one go about relationship-ing?
12. I should tell them. Should I tell them? I want to tell them.
13. Oh shhhhhhhhhhoot here they come. "Heeeeeeeeeeeeey."
14. Yeah, I don't know how to do this.
15. #ForeverAlone
If you have a crush, I wish you all the luck. Prepare yourself for the emotional roller coaster that's in store.
