15 Songs For Getting Through The End Of The Semester

We are entering the last week of April. Summer vacation is so close that you can practically taste it. Whether you're working on a tan or staying inside with the AC on full blast, staying out late or sleeping in, summer is a highly anticipated time for all of us. There's just one thing standing between us and all the wonderful things that come with summer vacation: the last few weeks of school.

Yeah,as if you actually needed a reminder of that. You are well aware of the rapidly approaching deadlines, group projects, and final exams. Casual existential dread and a general feeling of tiredness creates a large sense of community among all of us as students. Unfortunately, it also causes a huge drop in motivation. I have put together a playlist of motivational songs to help us all power through these next few weeks.

1. "I'll Make A Man Out of You" - The Mulan Soundtrack

It is nearly impossible not to sing along to this song when it starts playing. How can anyone listen to this song and not feel pumped? If you can get psyched about defeating the Huns, your assignments are no match for you. Granted, the feeling may not last longer than the song, but that's what the repeat button on your phone's music player is for!

2. "Titanium" - David Guetta featuring Sia

Okay, if you're anything like me, you will forever associate "Titanium" with the shower scene in Pitch Perfect. Like Chloe said, this song really builds. You may not be able to hit those notes like Sia, but this song is a great confidence booster.

3. "Formation" - Beyoncè

Bring that Beyoncè-style confidence with you everywhere you go! She ignores the haters, works hard, and embraces every part of herself. If that isn't inspirational, I don't know what is.

4. "Bohemian Rhapsody" - Queen

Here's another song it's nearly impossible not to sing along to. When you just need to take a break and rock out with your friends, this is the ultimate buddy sing along song!

5. "Can't Touch This"- MC Hammer

What can I say? This is the kind of song that makes you want to move.

6. "Victorious" - Panic! at the Disco

This one reminds us that we're almost to the end of the semester and therefore, almost party time!

7. "How To Be a Heart Breaker" - Marina and the Diamonds

Marina is here to remind us that there's nothing wrong with a little light-hearted fun among all the hard work.

8. "We Belong Together" - Pat Benatar

This song is the musical embodiment of the moment you're about to cross the finish line.

9. "Fight Song" - Rachel Platten

The semester has been so long, but don't give up hope! You've still got a lot of fight left in you.

10. "Edge of Seventeen" - Stevie Nicks

In my humble opinion, no official playlist is truly complete without at least one Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac song. You can feel the energy and memories of teenage rebellion in this one.

11. "Come On, Eileen" - Dexy's Midnight Runners

Turn this one up and dance like no one is watching.

12. "Hold On" - Wilson Phillips

Here, we have another famous don't-give-up-anthem. It's a little corny but still a good feel good song.

13. "No Scrubs" - TLC

Send the "No Scrubs" mp3 to any guy, girl or other person trying to waste your valuable time.

14. "Sing" - My Chemical Romance

This is one of those great songs for those especially rough days.

15. "Don't Stop Believing" - Journey

We'll end this article with another great buddy sing along song. Good luck with everything and remember to hang in there!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
