Everyone has a dream destination that they hope to one-day call home. Some dream of going no farther than their hometown or birthplace. Others dream of making a home in New York, Paris or even Tokyo. Still, others dream to one day live in a glorious place only few get to claim as their homeland: Mizzou Greek Town. Streets and streets of fraternities and sororities lined up make up the unique place unlike any other in the world. Greek Town isn't just a location—it's a way of life. And for those of us lucky enough to live there, here are some signs that you're becoming one of us.
1. You never have (and never will) willingly walk to east campus.
2. You expect Phi Kapp to be hanging if it's ever warmer than 32 degrees.
3. Food set out for the entire house in between meal times doesn't last longer than 10 minutes.
4. On a nice day, you don't even try to study near a window, unless you're studying the music played at darties.
5. Anything further than Cornell is “far" (and even that's far if its raining/snowing/8 am).
6. You wake up to the sound of construction at DU.
7. You have a relative ranking of which chapters have the best houses, with yours at the top, of course.
8. You have a love affair with the house chef.
9. Any form of weather is an excuse to take pictures in front of the house. It's snowing? Instagram it. It's sunny? Use it as a cover photo.
10. The chapter dining room is the best place to study, hands down.
11. You really only know how to drive from the house, to Andy's, and back.
12. When you go home, you miss meals at the house.
13. You almost need to hear “Started From the Bottom" blaring through the wall from a nearby fraternity to fall asleep on a Thursday night.
14. You've gotten used to the fact that people will see you changing in the morning through the window.
15. You wake up every morning and thank god that you get to live in a house with 70 of your best friends every day.
