15 Signs You're a Cat Lover

Let's get this straight; I'm not just fond of cats -- I love cats. Kittens, big cats, small cats, fluffy cats, almost all cats. Growing up, my cat was like my small child. As I prepare to put my childhood best friend down due to a tumor, I think of all the reasons to love cats. Here are 15 signs you're a total cat person:

1. You refer to your cat as your child, best friend, other half, etc.

You may not have kids, so your cat is like your baby, or hey, maybe you do have kids and your cat is still your favorite child. Regardless, you probably refer to your cat by something other than their first name.

2. Your cat is in most of your snapchats.

A lot of your friends probably haven't met your cat in person, but boy do they know he/she exists thanks to your endless snapchats and stories featuring your BFF. Plus, we all know a cat probably makes a cuter story than a picture of your own face.

3. Your friends tag you in cat pictures and videos all over Facebook.

Your friends know you're the crazy cat lady of the group, and they're here to embrace it. Prepare to be tagged in that cat video you've already watched 10 times because you're on top of your cat game.

4. You get offended when someone doesn't like cats.

Wait, what? Yeah apparently there are people out there who don't like cats. How? We aren't sure. Are we slightly offended? Definitely.

5. Your cat always follows you around.

Even if you've been at work all day or away at school for months, your cat knows you're still the favorite and they'll be by your side the second you get home.

6. You completely understand your cat's personality.

You know whether he/she is in a cuddly mood or about to claw your face off. You get their sass, love, playfullness and everything in between.

7. You feed your cat bites of whatever you're eating.

You probably shouldn't feed them bites of your mac n cheese but you do anyway because you can't say no to their cute begging face.

8. You tell yourself you don't need a boyfriend/girlfriend because you have your cat.

"Are you dating anyone?" The answer is no, but at least I have my cat.

9. You tell strangers about your cat.

Feeling awkward and don't know where to take the conversation next? Of course you're going to bring up your cat.

10. You have conversations with your cat as if they could talk.

You tell your cat all about your day and love life (or lack thereof) and you know they are always the perfect listener.

11. You look forward to snuggling up with your cat after a long day more than anything.

When you picture having your purring cat on your lap, you feel instant joy and you know it.

12. You feel immediate affection for cats that aren't your own.

Whenever you find other cats, your first reaction is to try to make a new friend. You want to be friends with all of the cats!!!

13. You have a strong appreciation for cat puns, cat clothing, and anything cat.

You don't just love cats, you love anything that references cats. You probably own cat socks, cat shirts, and have tweeted about cats at least 50 times.

14. Your cat has been there during huge milestones in your life.

From your first day of school/work to graduation, your cat has been there for many important parts of your life, and you won't forget that.

15. Picturing losing your cat is the saddest thing ever.

Preparing for endless tears :(

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
