Everyone eats food, it is a survival mechanism after all. However, for some, food takes on a new meaning. Some people have an unnatural love for food, much like myself. As a foodie, you encounter people who share your love for food, but at the same time, you also meet the people who eat merely because they have to.
As a foodie, you don't understand these people at all. At this point, your friends know how much you value food and have completely accepted you as the foodie of your friend group. So as the foodie of your friend group, you will find these 15 statements as relatable and accurate statements aligning to your life.
1. Your friends know that a meal is never eaten until a quality Instagram picture has been taken.
You know what angle compliments every slice of pizza and pasta dish you eat.
2. Speaking of Instagram, the majority of your pictures are of food— oops!
3. You know all the best local small restaurants, and all your friends always ask you to pick the breakfast or dinner spot.
4. If you hear of a really great place, you're going. Travel distance. Who cares? Food is never a waste of gas.
Who doesn't love a food-centered road trip?
5. When your friends ask you what your favorite restaurant is, you can't come up with an answer.
How could you possibly choose, there are so many great ones out there! What are you in the mood for Italian, Mexican, Indian? There are just too many options!
6. "What's your favorite meal?" That's even harder, you like anything and everything as long as it's good quality.
7. You do, however, know where you had your best burger, slice of pizza, bagel and ice cream, and are proud of it.
8. "There's going to be food?" "I'm in."
9. You love when your friends visit you at home because you are so excited to take them to your favorite places.
Remember that pizzeria I never stopped talking about, or the coffee shop and even the ice cream place with the best flavors, yeah we're going.
10. You will eat anything and everything and this sometimes catches people off guard.
Lamb, veal, snapper, bring it on!
11. You won't be caught dead at Applebee's or Olive Garden, and your friends know to never suggest one of those places when you are meeting them for dinner.
Applebee's is a foodie's worst nightmare. The only time it is acceptable is for late-night snacks, maybe.
12. You can't stop talking about food, and thankfully your friends have accepted it (I hope).
It's one of the most important things in your life, of course you'll talk about it all day every day.
13. You will eat at any time of the day. Who cares if you already ate lunch, there's always room for more.
14. If your friends ever need help choosing what to order you are always there for them.
Don't order the spaghetti at the diner, and go adventurous at the family-owned, five-star Italian restaurant, trust me with this one.
15. Lastly, when people call you a foodie you beam with pride. It is one compliment you never get tired of hearing.
Being a foodie is a way of life, and you're just happy your friends accept you for who you are!
