There's a saying that says, "Distance makes the heart grow fonder." Whether you and your significant other are 100 miles or 1,000 miles apart, you have chosen to go the distance for a long time. People may question whether you two will actually make it or not, but hey, if it's with the right person, it's totally worth it. Here are some reasons why we torture ourselves to be with those that we love...and how it can be a successful relationship.

1. Loving Them No Matter What

Because, you know, there's some reason why you still want to be together, looking forward to the day when you are reunited.

2. Reminiscing All Those Good Times Together

The good, the bad, and the amazing.

3. Thinking About Your SO (Significant Other) Nonstop

Until your friends get so annoyed they ask you to stop. But, you can't help it.

4. Long Phone Convos

That you don't even need to be talking. Just knowing they are on the other end of the phone does wonders for the soul.

5. There's Unconditional Trust And Communication With Each Other

Talking about everything your SO missed out on is so nice because you know you literally talk about everything from the drunk nights to buying all the items in the $1 section of Target.

6. Cuz You're Willing to Do Anything For Them

Knowing that this time for your SO is so important for their life/career choices as well as yours

7. Leaving Sexy Snapchats Every Morning.

We all do it....which also motivates us to still want to look bomb when they see us

8. Cheesy Netflix and Facetime dates

Wine, Drinking Games , and PIZZA Included. It's the new Netflix n' Chill

9. Tagging them in Everything That Reminds You of Them

Might as well since you already talk and think about them 24/7

10. It Really Tests How Strong Your Relationship Actually Is

11. Knowing that the Only SO Drama You Have is Being Apart

and the only drama you talk about at girls' night are all the guys who bought you drinks at the bar, but got annoyed because they weren't your BF

12. When You Can't Believe It's Really Them

usually at the luggage claim

13. Still Being the Couple Everyone Wants To Be,

regardless of how much people wonder how you last in a long-distance relationship, they can't help but be in awe of how cute you two are as a couple. And being in a lasting LDR just puts the cherry on top.

14. You Feel So Good When You are Together

15. Cuz Being in Their Arms again is the Best Feeling, like, Ever.

That embrace just makes it all worth it

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
