I have a really special spot in my heart for my grandparents. They are people who mean the world to me, I would literally do anything for them. Here are 15 reasons why grandparents are so amazing.

1. Visiting is always so much fun!

Whether your grandparents live 5 minutes away or 5 hours away, it's always so much fun to go visit.

2. You’ll NEVER go hungry.

If you know you're going to go see your grandparents on a certain day, you might as well not eat that day or the day before for that matter. You know you're going to get snack, a meal, more snacks and a meal to go home with.

3.You get gifts/money all year round.

Even if it's not the holidays, you'll most likely receive some type of gift or some money, just because. Shout out to grandpa for being a random gift giver, you're the real MVP!

4.Holidays are literally the best.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Valentines day, birthdays, any holiday you think of, it's always special and exciting because you get to see or spend time with your grandparents. Holidays bring out the best in everyone.

5.They always spoil you.

"You're a blessing, you deserve everything". Well that's what my grandma says to me, then BAM! spoiled like the little princess I am (dramatically flips hair). I'm sure I speak for most girls on this one.

6.They always make you laugh and smile.

Without fail, my grandparents always make me laugh uncontrollably. I can never be sad or in a bad mood when I'm around them.

7.You hear amazing stories about their lives.

I always here stories of my grandparents lives, how they grew up and what they've been through. It amazes me how times have changed from when they were teenagers verse teenagers today.

8.You hear stories about your parent’s lives.

The more I talk to my grandparents, the more I hear about my parents and how they grew up with my aunts and uncles.

9. If you’re lucky, you get the dirt on your parents.

Its funny how my parents always have a different story than my grandparents. I learned a lot about my dad from my grandma the last few months, I can no longer get in trouble for anything ever again. *Little 30 second dance party* Thanks Grandma!

10. Day trips are always fun!

I love when I get to spend the day with my grandparents, going out and running errands with them, or doing family activities, or weekend trips are always so much fun.

11. You get to cook and bake with them.

I love cooking with my grandma, it's so fun and such a learning experience learning how to cook and bake. Especially around the holidays!

12. They appreciate your company more than anything.

My grandparents love when I come to visit. They get happy and enjoy just sitting and talking about anything and everything. Even a phone call just to say hi. They love it!

13. They will always defend you, even if you’re wrong.

I cant even begin to tell you how many times my brothers and I have called our grandparents to tell them "how terrible our parents are being and how unfair they are". Let's just say we always won in the end. My parents are still holding a grudge to this day.

14. They are your biggest supporters.

Games, dance competitions, karate, award ceremonies, graduations, proms, birthday parties, projects, relationships, you name it! Expect your favorite cheerleaders to be there! They will be your biggest fans no matter what you do. Especially during the rough times.

15. They will love you endlessly.

No one will love you more then your grandparents. You are everything to them. You mean everything to them. They need you just as much as you need them. They will love you forever and always.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
