15 Reasons Being An Aunt Is The Best

15 Reasons Being An Aunt Is The Best

Dedicated to my Nephew

There is nothing better than being an Auntie. If you don't have a younger sibling but always wanted one, you especially love being an Aunt. It's the closest thing to being a big sister that you'll have, so you treasure it so much. You get to come home to your niece or nephew and get the biggest hugs and kisses ever. You have someone in your life you can watch grow up from the day they were born to all of the big things in their life. Being an Aunt is so special and makes you start to think more of others rather than yourself. Being an Aunt brings the best out in you.

15 Reasons Being an Aunt is the Best:

1. Your niece or nephew becomes your "mini-me."

You become so alike, you may be caught wearing the same thing. You must convince your niece or nephew which sports teams to route for and to be just like you. (Go Red Sox!)

2. You get out of the dirty work because you don't hold parental responsibilities.

Diaper changing?... Yeah, I'll pass. You can almost pick and choose the responsibilities you have and give the dirtier work back to their mom and dad.

3. You have an excuse to be childlike.

You may not be a kid anymore, but being an Aunt brings the childlike personality right out of you. You are truly a "child-at-heart", when you have your niece or nephew beside you.

4. You are looked up to.

When you become an Aunt, you become a role model. They look up to you, want to be like you, and value the things you say and do.

5. Cute gifts wait for you on birthdays and holidays from your special cutie.

Your niece or nephew is always there for you, and it is so cute getting a card signed by them. They're another person in your life who will always care for you as much as you care for them.

6. You have endless hours of laughter, smiles, and memories.

There is never a dull moment. It's always all smiles and laughs, making memory after memory each and every time you are together.

7. Get to cheer on your little one every step of the way. They support you as well.

Whether you are a younger Aunt and an athlete in college like me or not, your niece or nephew will be cheering you on and supporting you whenever possible. There is no better feeling seeing your little one in the stands and runs to you have the buzzer of the end of the game goes off. They support you in return of you supporting them.

8. Experience of being an Aunt prepares you to be a parent of your own someday.

From giving baths, to the (rare) diaper changes, seeing how parenting works, and taking on roles of responsibility, that all contributes to better preparing you to be a mom someday. You'll have had plenty of experience by being in your niece or nephew's life since the day that they were born.

9. Use your imagination- Make forts!

Making forts is a classic and a must! You know you're a good Aunt when you show them your genius fort hacks- like tucking blankets into the drawers of your dresser.

10. Bedtime stories and cuddles.

You start the day together and end it together. You end up reading more books than you originally had planned to, so you get just a little bit more bonding before bedtime.

11. You have someone to spoil.

You always want your niece or nephew to be happy and spoiled. And, it is always slight competition wanting your gifts to them to be their favorite.

12. You do holidays right.

You trick-or-treat together on Halloween. You match and coordinate your Christmas outfits. You always make every holiday memorable (and of course take the cutest pictures to document it all).

13. Get to hold hands with your favorite kid.

Whether you are going on an Easter egg hunt or safely crossing a parking lot, it is always a cute moment to hold hands with your little one.

14. Always go on walks.

No matter how nippy the weather may be outside, there is always time for walks! Rain or shine, too hot or too cold, the weather will never get us down!

15. You do everything together.

Sweet treats with your sweet niece or nephew. It never gets old!

You spend so much time together with your niece or nephew and act so cute to the point where people often mistaken you to be their mother. You know you're doing being an Aunt right if that happens.

Treasure the moments you have as an Aunt because your little one isn't little forever. It is crazy how fast time goes by and how much they grow up, but it is so special to know you were the number one Auntie and there for them through it all.

So many memories of being an Aunt draw dear to your heart. And everytime your niece or nephew says they love you, your heart melts all over again

Dedicated to my nephew, whom I am so grateful for since the first day I met him. <3

5 Perks Of Having A Long-Distance Best Friend

The best kind of long-distance relationship.

Sometimes, people get annoyed when girls refer to multiple people as their "best friend," but they don't understand. We have different types of best friends. There's the going out together best friend, the see each other everyday best friend and the constant, low maintenance best friend.

While I'm lucky enough to have two out of the three at the same school as me, my "low maintenance" best friend goes to college six hours from Baton Rouge.

This type of friend is special because no matter how long you go without talking or seeing each other, you're always insanely close. Even though I miss her daily, having a long-distance best friend has its perks. Here are just a few of them...

1. Getting to see each other is a special event.

Sometimes when you see someone all the time, you take that person and their friendship for granted. When you don't get to see one of your favorite people very often, the times when you're together are truly appreciated.

2. You always have someone to give unbiased advice.

This person knows you best, but they probably don't know the people you're telling them about, so they can give you better advice than anyone else.

3. You always have someone to text and FaceTime.

While there may be hundreds of miles between you, they're also just a phone call away. You know they'll always be there for you even when they can't physically be there.

4. You can plan fun trips to visit each other.

When you can visit each other, you get to meet the people you've heard so much about and experience all the places they love. You get to have your own college experience and, sometimes, theirs, too.

5. You know they will always be a part of your life.

If you can survive going to school in different states, you've both proven that your friendship will last forever. You both care enough to make time for the other in the midst of exams, social events, and homework.

The long-distance best friend is a forever friend. While I wish I could see mine more, I wouldn't trade her for anything.

The Best And Worst Moments Of 'The Bachelor': Season 23

Chris Harrison was right when he said this was the most dramatic season yet.

This season of "The Bachelor" definitely went down in history as one of the best. In the beginning, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Colton being the Bachelor because, just like the rest of America, I had mixed feelings about him. After his breakup with Becca on "The Bachelorette," and an on-and-off relationship with Tia, Colton found his way back to the Bachelor mansion once again, but this time as the leading man.

There were ups and downs, just like every season, but after the finale, I realized that Colton was one of the best Bachelors of the entire franchise. He was right up there with Bachelor number 22, Ben Higgins. He spoke from his heart and it was easy to tell just how hard he fell for some of these women.

Chris Harrison was right when he said this was going to be the most dramatic season yet. Here are the best and worst moments of the entire season. I'm already missing Colton's shower scenes.

1. Worst: The Constant Virginity Jokes

Demi Virgin joke Gif

ABC was seriously milking this.

2. Best: Any time Colton was in the shower.

Colton Shower Gif

Hottest Bachelor ever? The answer is yes.

3. Worst: The Sloth Girl

Sloth Girl Gif

This was so painful to watch.

4. Best: Colton sending home Onyeka and Nicole together.

Colton Reject Gif

Their drama was petty AF and Colton was not having it. Respect.

5. Worst: Demi getting the boot.

demi funny gif

So sad to see my girl put herself out there and get shot down.

6. Best: Demi's personality

demi treasure

Everything that came out of her mouth was hilarious. Can't wait to see her thrive in paradise.

7. Worst: "Roll Tide"

Hannah B Roll Tide

Hannah B's one-on-one date was so cringing. Her season as the Bachelorette is going to be very interesting.

8. Best: Caelynn talking about her past.

Caelynn and Colton

This brave girl shared her story about sexual assault, and it was a moment so much bigger than the show.

9. Worst: None of Colton's hot friends making guest appearances.

Blake, Jason, Colton

I'm talking about Blake and Jason. What a crew.

10. Best: Heather finally getting her first kiss.

Heather Bachelor

When they changed her "Never Been Kissed" title to "Has Been Kissed." Good one, ABC.

11. Worst: Hannah Beast

Hannah Beast

I am really hoping Hannah Beast stays in her cage for "The Bachelorette."

12. Best: Getting a new "Bachelor" recap guy, Daniel Miramontes.

Demi Daniel Facetime

This hilarious guy was made Twitter famous by Bachelor Nation because of his hilarious recaps of the show. He even got to Facetime Demi and was invited to the "Women Tell All." Check him out! @dmiramontes_

13. Worst: Chris Harrison's screen time was NON-EXISTENT.

Chris Harrison

The past few seasons of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" have been lacking the best host in the world and I am super salty about it.

14. Best: Seeing Colton scream like a girl when skydiving with Tayshia.

Colton Skydive Gif

Too damn funny.

15. Worst: When Cassie broke up with Colton.

Colton Cassie gif

Watching Colton shake from hearing that Cassie was choosing to leave was painful to watch. I am still in shock that he told her he wants to pick her when there were still two other women there.

Bachelor Fence Jump

Waited all season for this and it was totally worth it.

17. Worst: When Colton broke up with Hannah G.

Hannah G gif

My heart seriously broke for her, especially seeing how sad she still was at "After the Final Rose."

18. Best: Seeing Colton fight for love.

Colton love Gif

He broke Bachelor rules and made history by going after Cassie. I'm happy the two ended up together in the end.

19. Worst: Not seeing Colton on my TV screen every Monday night.

Colton wave gif

I can't get that smile out of my head.

Another season down, and it was one for the books. Colton, I miss you and your handsomeness already.
