15 Reasons Being An Aunt Is The Best

15 Reasons Being An Aunt Is The Best

Dedicated to my Nephew

There is nothing better than being an Auntie. If you don't have a younger sibling but always wanted one, you especially love being an Aunt. It's the closest thing to being a big sister that you'll have, so you treasure it so much. You get to come home to your niece or nephew and get the biggest hugs and kisses ever. You have someone in your life you can watch grow up from the day they were born to all of the big things in their life. Being an Aunt is so special and makes you start to think more of others rather than yourself. Being an Aunt brings the best out in you.

15 Reasons Being an Aunt is the Best:

1. Your niece or nephew becomes your "mini-me."

You become so alike, you may be caught wearing the same thing. You must convince your niece or nephew which sports teams to route for and to be just like you. (Go Red Sox!)

2. You get out of the dirty work because you don't hold parental responsibilities.

Diaper changing?... Yeah, I'll pass. You can almost pick and choose the responsibilities you have and give the dirtier work back to their mom and dad.

3. You have an excuse to be childlike.

You may not be a kid anymore, but being an Aunt brings the childlike personality right out of you. You are truly a "child-at-heart", when you have your niece or nephew beside you.

4. You are looked up to.

When you become an Aunt, you become a role model. They look up to you, want to be like you, and value the things you say and do.

5. Cute gifts wait for you on birthdays and holidays from your special cutie.

Your niece or nephew is always there for you, and it is so cute getting a card signed by them. They're another person in your life who will always care for you as much as you care for them.

6. You have endless hours of laughter, smiles, and memories.

There is never a dull moment. It's always all smiles and laughs, making memory after memory each and every time you are together.

7. Get to cheer on your little one every step of the way. They support you as well.

Whether you are a younger Aunt and an athlete in college like me or not, your niece or nephew will be cheering you on and supporting you whenever possible. There is no better feeling seeing your little one in the stands and runs to you have the buzzer of the end of the game goes off. They support you in return of you supporting them.

8. Experience of being an Aunt prepares you to be a parent of your own someday.

From giving baths, to the (rare) diaper changes, seeing how parenting works, and taking on roles of responsibility, that all contributes to better preparing you to be a mom someday. You'll have had plenty of experience by being in your niece or nephew's life since the day that they were born.

9. Use your imagination- Make forts!

Making forts is a classic and a must! You know you're a good Aunt when you show them your genius fort hacks- like tucking blankets into the drawers of your dresser.

10. Bedtime stories and cuddles.

You start the day together and end it together. You end up reading more books than you originally had planned to, so you get just a little bit more bonding before bedtime.

11. You have someone to spoil.

You always want your niece or nephew to be happy and spoiled. And, it is always slight competition wanting your gifts to them to be their favorite.

12. You do holidays right.

You trick-or-treat together on Halloween. You match and coordinate your Christmas outfits. You always make every holiday memorable (and of course take the cutest pictures to document it all).

13. Get to hold hands with your favorite kid.

Whether you are going on an Easter egg hunt or safely crossing a parking lot, it is always a cute moment to hold hands with your little one.

14. Always go on walks.

No matter how nippy the weather may be outside, there is always time for walks! Rain or shine, too hot or too cold, the weather will never get us down!

15. You do everything together.

Sweet treats with your sweet niece or nephew. It never gets old!

You spend so much time together with your niece or nephew and act so cute to the point where people often mistaken you to be their mother. You know you're doing being an Aunt right if that happens.

Treasure the moments you have as an Aunt because your little one isn't little forever. It is crazy how fast time goes by and how much they grow up, but it is so special to know you were the number one Auntie and there for them through it all.

So many memories of being an Aunt draw dear to your heart. And everytime your niece or nephew says they love you, your heart melts all over again

Dedicated to my nephew, whom I am so grateful for since the first day I met him. <3

College As Told By Junie B. Jones

A tribute to the beloved author Barbara Parks.

The Junie B. Jones series was a big part of my childhood. They were the first chapter books I ever read. On car trips, my mother would entertain my sister and me by purchasing a new Junie B. Jones book and reading it to us. My favorite part about the books then, and still, are how funny they are. Junie B. takes things very literally, and her (mis)adventures are hilarious. A lot of children's authors tend to write for children and parents in their books to keep the attention of both parties. Barbara Park, the author of the Junie B. Jones series, did just that. This is why many things Junie B. said in Kindergarten could be applied to her experiences in college, as shown here.

When Junie B. introduces herself hundreds of times during orientation week:

“My name is Junie B. Jones. The B stands for Beatrice. Except I don't like Beatrice. I just like B and that's all." (Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus, p. 1)

When she goes to her first college career fair:

"Yeah, only guess what? I never even heard of that dumb word careers before. And so I won't know what the heck we're talking about." (Junie B. Jones and her Big Fat Mouth, p. 2)

When she thinks people in class are gossiping about her:

“They whispered to each other for a real long time. Also, they kept looking at me. And they wouldn't even stop." (Junie B., First Grader Boss of Lunch, p. 66)

When someone asks her about the library:

“It's where the books are. And guess what? Books are my very favorite things in the whole world!" (Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus, p. 27)

When she doesn't know what she's eating at the caf:

“I peeked inside the bread. I stared and stared for a real long time. 'Cause I didn't actually recognize the meat, that's why. Finally, I ate it anyway. It was tasty...whatever it was." (Junie B., First Grader Boss of Lunch, p. 66)

When she gets bored during class:

“I drew a sausage patty on my arm. Only that wasn't even an assignment." (Junie B. Jones Loves Handsome Warren, p. 18)

When she considers dropping out:

“Maybe someday I will just be the Boss of Cookies instead!" (Junie B., First Grader Boss of Lunch, p. 76)

When her friends invite her to the lake for Labor Day:

“GOOD NEWS! I CAN COME TO THE LAKE WITH YOU, I BELIEVE!" (Junie B. Jones Smells Something Fishy, p. 17)

When her professor never enters grades on time:

“I rolled my eyes way up to the sky." (Junie B., First Grader Boss of Lunch, p. 38)

When her friends won't stop poking her on Facebook:

“Do not poke me one more time, and I mean it." (Junie B. Jones Smells Something Fishy, p. 7)

When she finds out she got a bad test grade:

“Then my eyes got a little bit wet. I wasn't crying, though." (Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus, p. 17)

When she isn't allowed to have a pet on campus but really wants one:

When she has to walk across campus in the dark:

“There's no such thing as monsters. There's no such thing as monsters." (Junie B. Jones Has a Monster Under Her Bed, p. 12)

When her boyfriend breaks her heart:

“I am a bachelorette. A bachelorette is when your boyfriend named Ricardo dumps you at recess. Only I wasn't actually expecting that terrible trouble." (Junie B. Jones Is (almost) a Flower Girl, p. 1)

When she paints her first canvas:

"And painting is the funnest thing I love!" (Junie B. Jones and her Big Fat Mouth, p. 61)

When her sorority takes stacked pictures:

“The biggie kids stand in the back. And the shortie kids stand in the front. I am a shortie kid. Only that is nothing to be ashamed of." (Junie B. Jones Has a Monster Under Her Bed, p. 7)

When she's had enough of the caf's food:

“Want to bake a lemon pie? A lemon pie would be fun, don't you think?" (Junie B. Jones Has a Monster Under Her Bed p. 34)

When she forgets about an exam:

“Speechless is when your mouth can't speech." (Junie B. Jones Loves Handsome Warren, p. 54)

When she finds out she has enough credits to graduate:

“A DIPLOMA! A DIPLOMA! I WILL LOVE A DIPLOMA!" (Junie B. Jones is a Graduation Girl p. 6)

When she gets home from college:

"IT'S ME! IT'S JUNIE B. JONES! I'M HOME FROM MY SCHOOL!" (Junie B. Jones and some Sneaky Peaky Spying p. 20)

10 Reasons Why Tom Holland Is The Definition Of Total Boyfriend Material

He's the adorable British dork of our dreams.

Tom Holland first stormed onto the scene as Spiderman in "Captain America: Civil War" in 2016, and we all loved his performance in the movie. However, now that time has gone on, there's another reason he's stolen all of our hearts: He's one hundred percent boyfriend material! He's absolutely adorable, is a complete dork without ever meaning to, and he loves all dogs. There are so many reasons Tom Holland is perfect boyfriend material, but here are ten of the most important reasons.

1. Let's start with the obvious: He's Spiderman.

What girl wouldn't want to date a superhero? Spiderman is one of the best superheroes ever so it would be amazing to date the actor who plays him. Also, if you didn't cry during Tom Holland's final performance in "Infinity War", you're lying.

2. He loves dogs.

Not only does he have a cute pit bull named Tessa, but he also seems to make friends with every dog he meets. It would be so wonderful to play with dogs with him!

3. He's always down for adventures.

One of the best parts of dating someone is getting to try new things and go on adventures with them. Since Tom travels the world all the time to promote his movies, you and he could maybe take time every now and then to try something new, like surfing!

4. He's that adorable British boyfriend you've always dreamt of.

Yes, celebrities like Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch have a more "suave Brit" personality about them, but Tom Holland is the "adorable Brit" every girl has ever dreamt of dating. He's pretty much cornered the market at this point.

5. He's just a really big dork.

I mean, just look at him! I don't think there would be anyone better to laugh or do dorky things with than Tom Holland.

6. He's got a great group of friends.

I don't know about you, but I would love to hang out with Zendaya and Jacob Balaton. All three of these guys just seem like perfect squad goals.

7. He truly loves and appreciates the people in his life.

Tom always shows his gratitude for every opportunity he's been given and never hesitates to support his co-stars. That, to me, is true friendship.

8. He's got a great sense of style.

That is one classy outfit right there. And the muscles are a great bonus.

9. He's well-traveled.

How awesome would it be to see the world with Tom as he goes on promotional tours? Think of all the cool things you could experience together!

10. He's a pure ray of sunshine who deserves the world.

Breaking News: Local Boy is a Literal Angel. He is the Brightest Ray of Sunshine.

So ladies, if you're looking for the perfect boyfriend, look no further than Tom Holland.
