Let's be honest, the resolutions aren’t working; or if they are, the motivation is dwindling.
In between Christmas and right before the new year, there is a limbo where not much happens other than the expected "new year, new me" flood on your timelines. People are going back to work, finally checking the damage of their bank account, and realizing it is just about time to come up with an answer to the all too familiar question "What are your new years resolutions?"
When I finally got around to the question my mind went really idealistic. Gosh, there is just so much! I want to go to the gym more, I want to try harder at this or put more effort into that, I want to be able to work, have an internship, be a full time student, and a good daughter/citizen; the list could have gone on for years. Yet, how many of the new year resolutions we set out for ourselves do we realistically keep past January? The strong conviction of going to the gym every week is all too soon forgotten as college students begin buckling down for another semester and working citizens realize the time they took off for winter vacation needs to be placed somewhere. Life happens.
Here is a list of realistic new year resolutions commandments that we can all, for the most part, keep and will have us feeling good as we prepare for stressful, starving and a (hopefully) rewarding semester.
