As much as I hate to admit it, the cold weather has been encroaching on us. I know I'm personally not ready to give up my summer wardrobe yet, but many people are anxious to bust into fall. These are some of the major pieces in my wardrobe making an appearance this fall.

1. Ripped Denim

Ripped denim, especially lighter washes have been making a steady appearance in fashion. A ripped pair of denim is a great way to mix up your look so you don't wear the same pair every day like I always end up doing.

2. Leather Jacket

My leather jacket is an essential piece in my wardrobe when the temperature starts to drop. It works with more casual and more formal outfits to make everything look that much more put together.

3. Cozy Scarf

Adding a scarf to an outfit is a great way to mix up your look a little. Not to mention it will keep you warm on those chilly morning walks to class.

4. Chunky Sweaters

Cozy pieces always come into style during fall and chunky sweaters are no exception. Wear it with leggings for a basic look, or with a skirt and tights to get more dressed up. You can also layer one over a summer dress to stretch your wardrobe to fall.

5. Suede Boots or Booties

Again, a super versatile wardrobe essential. Wear them professionally, casually or formally, they just look good with everything.

6. Cute Socks

I wear higher socks with patterns and lace with my combat boots and high top converse to make them a little more feminine and add some cute accessories to my look. Plus who doesn't love fun socks.

7. Denim Jacket

A denim jacket is a perfect weight for fall. It is slightly heavier so it will keep you warm outside, but not so thick that you'll be sweltering the second you step inside.

8. Belt

Belts are an easy way to accessorize any outfit, not to mention it keeps your pants up. Try something with a standout buckle, or something braided to add some interest to your look.

9. Flannel Shirts

Flannels are super versatile as they can be worn like a jacket, tied around the waist, layered under a sweater, or buttoned up as a shirt. With so many ways to incorporate a flannel into your outfit, you can be sure it will not just sit in the back of your closet.

10. Hoops

Although I am not a huge jewelry person, I always am wearing earrings. This season hoops are the earring of choice. They make it look like you tried a lot harder than you actually did.

11. Thermal Shirts

Thermal shirts are perfect on their own or under a sweater or flannel depending on the temperature. They are super cute and super cozy, ideal for fall.

12. Denim Skirt

Denim goes with everything and skirts always make a cute outfit, meaning a denim skirt is basically the ideal wardrobe piece.

13. Fashionable Sneakers

Comfy shoes can also be cute. Adidas Superstars have been super in recently, but I usually wear hightop converse or my maroon vans.

14. Basic T-Shirt

You can't go wrong with jeans and a t-shirt. Having a go-to t-shirt and pairing it with jeans a simple outfit to throw together quickly. Add or subtract any layering pieces to make it different each time you rock it.

15. Bodycon Dresses

A basic dress is perfect for when you do not know what to wear. They can be dressed up or down to ensure you are not too formal or too casual for whatever your day may entail.

Hopefully, this outfit inspiration will make it a little less painful as we move into the colder months. A seasonal shopping spree never hurt anyone either.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
