After watching Grey’s Anatomy, I was possibly the most motivated person to become a surgeon and live the life of Meredith Grey as a resident. I’m not usually the type to binge watch Netflix series but somehow Grey’s Anatomy became my ultimate obsession and recently finishing the show has left me with only one thing to do… reminisce and make a list of the 15 most inspiring, relatable and memorable Grey’s Anatomy quotes.

  1. “Don't let what he wants eclipse what you need. He's very dreamy, but he's not the sun. You are.” -Cristina Yang
  2. “Let’s play a game of whose life sucks the most. I’ll win. I always win.” -Meredith Grey
  3. "No-one holds a scalpel until I'm so happy I'm Mary Freaking Poppins." -Miranda Bailey
  4. "Oh screw beautiful! I’m brilliant! If you want to appease me, compliment my brain.” -Cristina Yang
  5. "Have some fire. Be unstoppable. Be a force of nature.” -Cristina Yang
  6. "Cause you never think that the last time is the last time. You think there will be more. You think you have forever, but you don’t." -Meredith Grey
  7. "I am not an ugly duckling. I'm a swan.” -April Kepner
  8. "If you love someone you tell them. Even if you're scared that it's not the right thing. Even if you're scared it'll cause problems. Even if you're scared that it will burn your life to the ground. You say it. You say it loud.” -Mark Sloan
  9. "Not everybody has to be happy all the time. Thats not mental health. That's crap.” -Meredith Grey
  10. “It’s one of those things people say. 'You can't move on until you let go of the past.' Letting go is the easy part, it's the moving on that's painful. So sometimes we fight it, trying to keep things the same. Things can't stay the same though. At some point you just have to let it go. Move on. Because no matter how painful it is, it's the only way we grow.” -Meredith Grey
  11. “Change: We don't like it, we fear it, but we can't stop it from coming. We either adapt to change, or we get left behind. It hurts to grow, anybody who tells you it doesn't is lying. But here's the truth: Sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same. And sometimes, oh, sometimes change is good. Sometimes change is everything.” -Meredith Grey
  12. "It always feels like there is just one person in this world to love. And then you find somebody else, and it just seems crazy that you were ever worried in the first place." -Lexie Grey
  13. "I'm sure it must feel as though everything is coming apart, but you can get through this." -Cristina Yang
  14. "We do our very best, but sometimes it's just not good enough. We buckle our seat belts, we wear a helmet, we stick to the lighted paths, we try to be safe. We try so hard to protect ourselves, but it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Cause when the bad things come, they come out of nowhere. The bad things come suddenly, with no warning. But we forget that sometimes that's how the good things come too." -Meredith Grey
  15. “Just when we think we've figured things out, the universe throws us a curve ball. So we have to improvise. We find happiness in unexpected places. We find our way back to the things that matter the most. The universe is funny that way, sometimes it just has a way of making sure we wind up exactly where we belong." -Meredith Grey

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
