If you’re one of those basic girls like me that’s literally obsessed with fall, you know there are essentials you cannot get through the season without; here are only a few:

  1. Pumpkin Spice Everything- I mean everything, as we speak I’m drinking a pumpkin spice latte but there is, of course, pumpkin spice coffee, tea, candles, whip cream, perfumes, and hand sanitizers. If you really can’t stand pumpkin spice..first, you’re not basic enough to hang with us, please leave, and two, you better LOVE salted caramel.
  2. Fall Decor- Fake leaves, pumpkins, cute little figurines, white Christmas lights, the only acceptable time to use orange anything. If your room doesn’t look like maple fest you’re doing it wrong.
  3. Leg Warmers- Yes, I said it, leg warmers. Specifically creams and burgundies. Peeking out of a knee high boot? Way too cute.
  4. Candles- Fall scents are the best scents. “Autumn” and “Flannel” from Bath and Body Works? Stock up now, ladies.
  5. Chunky Knit- Chunky knit sweaters and scarves and hats.
  6. Fall Playlists for Every Mood- You know you’re going to play sweater weather on repeat.
  7. Liquid lipsticks- But honestly you only need like three because you know you’re only going to wear variations of burgundy.
  8. Flannels- The only time I will ever approve of plaid. But flannels are cute with leggings OR around the waist, so versatile.
  9. Leggings- While we are on the topic we should probably mention to the masses, just because we wear leggings every day does not mean we’re gross, we own like 14 pairs, but honestly we might be still wearing the same ones as yesterday.
  10. Booties- I mean, everyone loves butts year round, but I mean shoes this time, guys.
  11. Instagrammable photos- of your latte, of the changing leaves, of you and your SO apple picking, at a corn maze, with a random dog that makes you look super fall-grammable.
  12. Statement Necklaces - Because you’re wearing so many simple sweaters and leggings you need something to spice up your outfit.
  13. Halloween movies - Cuddle up on the couch, pop some popcorn, and enjoy some “Hocus Pocus.”
  14. Nails to kill - Fall nail trends slay all other seasons and we all know that.
  15. 10,000 dollars- To fund all of these necessities.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
