It is the best and most stressful thing you will ever endure. Taking a little can be quite the bundle of excitement and stress. Getting to know all of the new members is an exciting time, but choosing the right person for you can be difficult. The positives most certainly outweigh the negatives, but just about every big has gone through this process.
1. You tell your family line.
This is where the excitement sets in. Everyone is suddenly on the prowl for the perfect addition to the family line.
2. You love them all.
Finding that perfect addition is not easy since they are all so great.
3. You want to buy everything.
Anytime you leave the house you see something that your little has to have.
4. You have to budget.
You're already broke, but you still want to buy them everything! This may include skipping Chipotle a few times, but it's worth it.
5. You stalk them on social media.
You have to find out what they like, so social media is your go-to. You ask their friends, roommates, and other members to help you out to ensure you spoil your little in the best way possible.
6. You double-check yourself to remain secretive.
This is probably the hardest step... Making sure you don't give away too many details to ruin the surprise while also trying to get your little to know you.
7. You dodge questions.
I'm sure you've experienced multiple people asking "are you _____'s big?!" and not immediately screaming YES is a difficult task.
8. You have a plethora of baked goods.
You have to spoil and surprise your little with their favorite baked goodies, so your apartment becomes a bakery for Big/Little week.
9. You frantically search for Michael's or Joann's coupons.
If you're going to buy the entire store, you might as well save a few dollars.
10. Crafting is done 24/7.
Paint, markers, canvases, boxes, you name it. All of it must be done in this short week.
11. You recruit others to craft for you.
All of these tasks can't be done alone so you grab other members and anyone willing to help to get everything done.
12. Glitter is everywhere.
It's just part of big-little week.
13. You stress over if your little will like what you've done for them.
They'll love it. Trust me.
14. It's time for the reveal and suddenly everything comes together.
After that overwhelming week, it suddenly all comes together and you can welcome your little into the family.
