The 14 Stages Of A Road Trip

Road trips are one of the great things about summer. Time to travel the country, explore new places, and bond with old friends -- however, road trips aren't all fun. Sometimes, the long hours on the road feel endless and that much time in a confined space has its downsides. Here are the 14 stages of road tripping:

1. Preparation.

2. Excitement because you're finally on the road.

3. Realizing you're the first one needing to stop to go pee...

4. Turning for the first time in 100+ miles.

5. Starting to see road signs that show the mileage to your destination.

6. Arriving, exploring, and having the time of your life!

7. Packing to leave, souvenirs and all.

8. Saying goodbye to you wonderful destination and new friends.

9. Starting the trip back.

10. Waking up from your nap and realizing you're only 40 miles closer to home.

11. Giving up shotgun for the last leg of the trip.

12. Starting to feel like the car is shrinking and you can't stand to be in it much longer.

13. No longer needing Map Quest because you're that close to home.

14. Finally...home sweet home.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
