14 Signs You're A Closeted Anglophile

What is an Anglophile, you may ask? Well, an Anglophile is a person who person who is fond of or greatly admires England or Britain. I acquired this side of me from my mom, who is (in my opinion, if you already know who my mom is) British. Some of us wish we lived lived in England -- I know I do sometimes. I loved England, even if they drive on the other side of the road and car. Here are some simple signs that you're an Anglophile, too.

1. You watch a lot of BBC shows, dramas and movies.

My DVD library and Netflix queues exist of a majority of BBC shows and movies.

2. You say weird phrases.

I say "bloody hell" and "feckin' eejit" all the time.

3. You listen to/watch British comedians.

Rowan Atkinson and Gervase Phinn are the best.

4. You're always caught on the royal family's daily activities.

Did you know that Prince Phillip just retired from his royal duties?

5. A lot of your favorite actors and actresses are British.

Felicity Kenall, Pierce Brosnan, Judi Dench, Tom Hiddleston, and Benedict Cumberbatch... I could go on and on.

6. A lot of the music you listen to is also British.

Like, it's awesome. Some 1D, Little Mix, Sarah Brightman, and all that jazz.

7. You look at flats (apartments) for rent/sale in London or Oxford.

I often think of moving to England...

8. Your favorite Olympic Games host was London.

THAT WAS THE BEST ONE EVER! In my opinion, at least.

9. You eat some of the American foods, but use this British name.

Chips and Gravy, Fish and Chips, and Spotted Dick (that's a custard; get your head out of the gutter).

10. You get so excited for British candy and snacks.

Buttons, Crunchies, and Sherbert. LIFE.

11. If you're a horse girl, you can relate to the royal family when it comes to horses.

Almost EVERYONE in their family rides horses. Also, that's Reagan with the Queen.

12. You've looked at job adverts in London and at Buckingham palace.

I have looked at groom positions at the Royal Mews (the Queen's horses).

13. You shop a lot of companies where the Royals shop as well.

Zara, Topshop and Marks & Spencer are the best shops ever. I've shopped at all three.

14. You always want a Corgi.

I just want one cause the Queen has them, but also their fluffy butts are adorable.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
