14 Signs You're A Delta Gamma

Being a Delta Gamma comes with a ton of joy, memories and love. You could probably list off 100 reasons why you love Delta G so much, but here are 14 essentials.

1. You love the colors Bronze, Pink & Blue.

They are everywhere. I guarantee your big gave you hand crafted letters in these colors.

2. The Hannah Doll freaks you out a little bit.

Admit it. On bid day you probably had no idea why there was an Annie doll named Hannah in your lounge/house.

3. If something has anchors on it, you're very likely to purchase it.

You own at least four DG shirts with anchors on them and that's just the bare minimum. Don't forget to count all the anchor-related gifts you've received ever since you became a DG.

4. Your little is your life's most precious gem.

She is so perfect you want to cry. Even though she's younger, you feel as if you are constantly learning from her. You feel like you're her mom and her best friend all at the same time. Did I mention she's perfect?

5. "Welcome ΑboΔΓd" or "Welcome to PΔΓadise" is written all over new members' Facebook walls.

You're constantly finding a way to incorporate ΔΓ into every post. By the time you're a senior, you've gotten pretty creative.

5. Anchor Splash is the highlight of the semester.

Let's be real: there's nothing better than watching a ton of collegiate men trying to dance and make anchors in the water.

6. You get emotional watching the Delta Gamma Foundation video at recruitment.

You've gained so much from working with the Delta Gamma Foundation and you just can't help but get emotional every time.

7. You have DG friends from other chapters.

Whether you've met them at DG Institute, The Lewis Institute, Convention, or any other Delta Gamma event, you're #blessed to have sisters all over the country. No matter the chapter, you know you've always got girls who have your back.

8. You tell everyone about how Ellen DeGeneres surprised two DG chapters.

Ellen approves, you approve. Delta Gamma is amazing.

9. Service For Sight holds a very special place in your heart.

Your favorite foundation. You've learned the importance of service and making a difference and you couldn't be more thankful.

10. So do guide dogs.

Knowing these adorable pups are helping make a difference makes your heart soft.

11. You've 'popped the gamma' with every famous person you've met or photoshopped it.

Whether it's the Jonas Brothers, Kristin Cavallari, or Ellen DeGeneres, popping the gamma is always an essential.

12. You know there's going to be food at any anchored event.

Cookies, cake, sandwiches, chips, candy and pizza. Oh, and don't forget the veggies to make it healthy.

13. You've secretly always wanted the necklace option for your badge.

It's so beautiful and isn't difficult to put on. Why does it have to be so expensive.

14. You're Anchored Always.

Delta Gamma has given you a lifetime of friendships and memories. You will always have her and you couldn't be happier.

"I've only slept nine hours over the past four days, so I'm right on the verge of a nervous breakdown." - Leslie Knope

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
