The semester has just begun, but I already know that this playlist will be needed soon.

Life can be pretty stressful sometimes. We all have different methods to destress and relax, but one method that many choose to use is music. The thing is, there are just so many songs, so how do you decide what to listen to? That's why I made this playlist! There are many more great songs of course, but here are 14 that I recommend listening to the next time you find yourself needing to take some deep breaths. You can listen to this playlist on Spotify.

1. "And Then You" by Greg Laswell

The music is pretty simple yet so catchy. The lyrics are actually pretty simple as well, but they are also quite sweet.

2. "Budapest" by George Ezra

This song makes me want to go to the beach for some reason. I guess it's just that relaxing.

3. "i believe" by Christina Perri

Christina Perri's songs are powerful both lyrically and vocally, and this one is no different. Not only is the message beautiful, the music is as well. The end is my favorite part though; the only thing better than hearing Perri sing is hearing her harmonize with herself before a chorus of other voices join her.

4. "I Want to Write You a Song" by One Direction

This might be the most adorable One Direction song ever. The music and melody are simple but soothing.

5. "Kill Em With Kindness" by Selena Gomez

It's upbeat, catchy and has a positive message; what more could you possibly want in a song?

6. "Like I’m Gonna Lose You" Jasmine Thompson

First you should know that so many of Jasmine Thompson's songs could have been chosen for this playlist because she has such a beautiful, calming voice. That being said, her slower, piano version of this Meghan Trainor song is one of my favorites.

7. "Lost Boy" by Ruth B

I've heard this song so many times by now, both on the radio and not, but I still love it. There's just something about a simple piano song paired with Ruth B's voice that is so calming.

8. "Machine" by Scott Helman

I discovered this song on Spotify, and I'm so glad I did. The lyrics are so creative, original and uplifting.

9. "Mulholland Drive" by The Never Ending

The Never Ending are definitely underrated, and you should check out all of their songs, but I find this one to be particularly nice to listen to when you feel overwhelmed. This is also one I'd recommend listening to while taking a walk, even if it's just walking around campus or to your next class, which I can say is nice from experience.

10. "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran

This is clearly another already popular song, but it's way too pretty and soothing to not be on this playlist.

11. "Salvation" by Gabrielle Aplin

Gabrielle Aplin could make just about any song beautiful with her incredible voice.

12. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole

This is definitely the oldest song on the playlist. It's also not his original song, but his version is my favorite and the one I associate this song with even more than the one from "The Wizard of Oz." I mean, who doesn't love the ukulele?

13. "The Best is Yet to Come" by Sheppard

This fast and catchy song just makes me happy. It also has a motivating message that could help when you're feeling down, which comes along with feeling stressed.

14. "You Are Enough" by Sleeping At Last

This is another song with a wonderful message which is clearly seen in the title. It's a simple three-word sentence, but just like others, it's powerful.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
