14 Phases Of Finals Week Told By Leslie Knope

Although some schools are already out, many high schools and colleges are just about to head into finals week. Oh, the horror, the projects, the tears! So many conflicting thoughts you have during this week in which I think Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation can relate to as well! So procrastinate just a little more, and let Leslie Knope relate to you through this stressful time.

1. When professors assign more work right before finals

My thoughts exactly. Why do we need more papers and projects assigned to us when in just two days I will be taking the biggest test to determine my grade?

2. Reviewing the study guide and notes

Did we even talk about this stuff in class? I don't think so!

3. Stress eating

Well since I have so much work to do and I want to cry my eyes out, I'll eat some food because food ALWAYS understands.

4. Finding little things to distract you while you study

Any little thing around me while I try to study suddenly becomes my main focus.

5. When you're so tired and stressed you just cry

It's okay to cry! You've had a long few weeks so get all those tears out!

6. Finally feeling a little confident

You've studied this material for so long you should feel better about it!

7. Waking up the next day after giving up and going to bed

For some, it's two hours of sleep because they stayed up so late studying. Remember you test better on a good night sleep so call it in earlier than you usually would!

8. Walking into class asking other people how they feel

"Are you ready? No? Cool me too we'll fail together!"

9. Seeing the first question and you have no idea what it is

This wasn't on the study guide or any of the notes!

10. When the professor says you can't use your notes

How am I supposed to remember everything if I don't have my notes or book?

11. Thoughts during the test about your professor

I know this is in the heat of the moment, but Professor, why?

12. When you hand in your last final of the semester

You made it out alive even though you definitely feel like you went through a battle.

13. When you get your grades back and you passed

All good grades so all that studying was worth it!

14. Finally going on vacation and relaxing

Time for vacation, family, and friends! All that hard work paid off, now it's time to relax!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
