1. The Goonies
This movie is still one of the best movies ever made. If you haven't seen it, you should and if you have, you need to watch it again. It's full of adventure, pirates, and teenage hormones. What's not to like? Oh, and seeing a young Josh Brolin doesn't hurt either. This movie is still a classic and hopefully always will be.
2. Selena
Get ready for a movie that'll pull on your heart strings. This is based on a true story about a Mexican-American singer named Selena and her family. She had a beautiful voice and became very popular to so many people. Jennifer Lopez plays her in the movie. Sadly, the ending is exactly what you wouldn't want to happen, especially to such a great woman. Definitely a must see.
3. A League of Their Own
An old fashioned girl power movie. This takes place during WWII and now baseball has lost all its players because of the call of war. Now, women get the chance to play the game. There's a lot of familiar faces in the movie as well!

You'll be yelling at the television with this movie. Staring the late Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, he is hired has her bodyguard (hence the name) after certain events threaten her safety. You'll love this movie and hearing Whitney Houston sing is always amazing.
7. The Sound of Music
I could go on hours and hours about this movie. Yes, it's a really long movie, but the story needs all that time. Julie Andrews stars as a upcoming nun before WWII in Austria and then ends up watching over this widowers seven children. Don't worry, there's a bunch of singing. Hence, the making of the Von Trapp Family Singers. Make time to watch this timeless classic.
8. Mrs. Doubtfire
Staring the late actor Robin Williams, this story is about a separated couple trying to move on with their lives, Robin Williams character, Daniel, is trying to have more time with his kids. So he and his brother make up this plan for him to dress up as a old british woman (Mrs. Doubtfire) and become their housekeeper. This movie is so hilarious and fun family story.

He's not just your average professor. Harrison Ford stars in this adventure story. Yes, you need to watch all four. (One is of him way older) Seeing a movie with Harrison Ford in his prime should be incentive enough to watch this classic.
10. Forrest Gump
If you haven't even heard of a Forrest Gump reference then you're living under a rock. Tom Hanks plays a slow man growing up in Greenville, Alabama. It revolves around many events in his life including the war in Vietnam, working on a shrimp boat, and being in love with Jenny, his childhood best friend.
11. Uncle Buck
Get ready to laugh. I'm sure everyone can relate to an embarrassing family member. Uncle Buck has to go watch his nieces and nephew while their parent have to go away due to a family emergency. Buck isn't too responsible himself with his personal life so adding kids to the mix isn't a great idea.
12. Silence of the Lambs
If you like suspenseful movies, then this is the movie for you. Clarice is a FBI agent who gets picked by a serial killer to study.
