Whether you're enjoying Netflix by yourself with some chocolate, with a few of your friends for Galentine's, or with your significant other for some pizza and Netflix, here's a list of movies to enjoy for February 14th.
1. How To Be Single (2016)
So it's not necessarily a how-to guide, as showing up to work three hours late would probably end in a write up, but it's a great movie to watch as you chow down on tacos or what have you with your best friends.
2. Bridesmaids (2011)
If you've ever been a part of a bridal party, it can be a stressful situation. I don't know if I've ever seen someone as stressed as Annie (Kristen Wiig) having a meltdown on a plane, but I can relate with "help me, I'm poor" on a whole other level.
3. The Choice (2016)
I used to be one of those girls who wasn't a fan of Nicholas Sparks in the slightest. My mom and I would still go see his movies in theaters. This one was the first one to make me ugly cry.
4. Dirty Dancing (1987)
You can never go wrong with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Not with a classic line like, "nobody puts Baby in a corner." It will always be a perfect Valentine's Day movie, no matter how old it gets (the film celebrates its 30th anniversary this year).
5. 13 Going On 30 (2004)
I think people still live in this mindset in their twenties too. Who else wouldn't want to be "thirty, flirty, and thriving"? Always a great one to watch on Galentine's, especially when you can scream along to Love Is A Battlefield.
6. The Best of Me (2014)
For the love of all that is holy, buy the DVD, or the Blu-Ray, the Tears of Joy Edition so there will be no ugly tears whatsoever, just happy tears that fall into your tub of ice cream or wine, your pick.
7. Hope Floats (1998)
LITERALLY nothing in this world could beat Harry Connick Jr. in a cowboy hat. A great movie to watch when you're feeling down, and you'll be swept off your feet in a heartbeat by a man with wildflowers and a pick up truck.
8. Crazy Stupid Love (2011)
Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone have so much chemistry, this movie could have been two hours and twenty minutes of them staring at each other and I'd appreciate it. But when Gosling successfully does the lift from Dirty Dancing, my heart swoons.
9. What's Your Number? (2011)
We all want to live vicariously through Anna Faris, with that apartment and Chris Evans as a neighbor who doesn't believe in clothes. It's all about a magical number and a quest to find the one, even though the one was right there all along.
10. Fools Rush In (1997)
Matthew Perry has been one of my favorite actors for the longest, which comes from playing Chandler Bing. He's just as funny in this movie, even with some serious tone thrown in. It's easily one of my favorite romantic comedies. It's sort of like comfort food for me.
11. How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days (2003)
Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson are another Hollywood pair that has enough on screen chemistry to believe it's all too real. From their first meeting all the way down to the end, they belonged together and their love fern survived!
12. Me Before You (2016)
Based on the novel by the same name by Jojo Moyes, both of which produce copious amounts of tears. I suggest watching with someone, whether it's your best friend, your mom, or a significant other, you'll need the emotional support.
13. Grease (1978)
One of the greatest musicals (behind Rent) is one that makes you want to hand jive with your significant other or your best friend. The best option is the sing along version and if you're anything like me, you know every word.
14. Michael Bolton's Big, Sexy Valentine's Day Special (2017)
After you've ugly cried your way through some of the list, you might need some comedic relief. That's where Michael Bolton comes in to save the day. He even makes an appearance in full denim and a mullet to sing "When A Man Loves A Woman", I mean nothing can set the mood better on Valentine's Day.
